Title: [Resolved] Some basic event trouble.
Post by: Arios on January 29, 2007, 08:58:43 AM
1)
Well, as the topic says. I'm kinda new to using RPG maker XP 1.02 and I try to learn everything on my own but now I'm basicly stuck. My events just run over and over again. Once I left the area and returned that is.
I tried to read the tutorial in the FAQ section but it seems like he used another version then I do. So I didn't get much out of that. I'd appriciate if I could get some answers here. :)

2)
How do I make an NPC that walks, that is talkable?
I made it when I used "action trigger" but then the NPC will stand still untill you speaks to him/her.

Ok, got both issues out of the way. Thanks alot for the help!

Yes, I did that. But as you say, it works for you. If you leave the area you're in. And then return, isnt the event still there? That's how it is for me...

Use a switch and have it erased permanently.

Action trigger....hm...yep. I did mine by having the event move on it's own....can't explain because I don't have the screen shot in front of me. Post one up.

I did exactly what your screen shot says. And it still doesnt work. My old lady is just standing in the room when I enter it.

And someone who can answer the 1) question I got?

Thanks.

Post me a a zip file of ur game/project and i'll look at it.

Set you event up like how you see in the image below (after messing with it you only need one event and a demo is not needed. I did test it and it works. Type what ever you want the Inn lady to say in the SHOW TEXt/MESSAGE box.

Try not to double post in less than a space of hours. The edit button is very handy.
