Title: [RESOLVED] Event last through out entire game
Post by: Wafflekid on January 23, 2007, 02:09:47 AM
Is there a way to have an event last through out the entire game?

The event does stay there through the entire game unless you remove it.

I would suggest a script for something like that.

See I have a script for it, but to call up the menu, you gatta press the shift key, and thats why I have the events, to call the code.

Right. Just put the event in each room. It only takes one space, and it's near 0 stress on the program. Easy.

Maybe I misunderstand the problem, but wouldn't a common event work? Just as a paralell process, called by any switch, with the conditional branch that shift is being pressed?

Precisely. Open the database and there is a tab called "Common evemt". Put your event in there. Now set it to parallel process and set any switch to activate it. As soon as you start your game just turn on this switch with an event and the Common event will be executed through your entire game.

I dunno...I wanted it to rain in several places but not in others, so I did some switch networking, that if the rain was activated then it'd rain in these other places as well just by using switches...

So, yeah switches and common events.
