Finally got a hold of an eBook of this. I'm going to begin reading it tomorrow, and I recommend you do too =o Find it attached.
For a (somewhat brief) summary, refer to the wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_God_Delusion) article on it.
I like this line-
Quote"when one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion."
And-
QuoteDawkins begins Chapter 2 by describing Yahweh, the God of the Old Testament, as "arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction. Jealous and proud of it, a petty, unjust, unforgiving control freak, a vindictive bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser, a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidical, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."
This book gave me an erection. Good work. *Claps*.
Don't know if this is in the book or not:
Tallied by the bible, Yahweh killed more people then Satan did. A lot more, forget the exact number but it's something like this: Yahweh in the 100's, Satan: 3-4 people ;8 ( Numbers are off BTW ).
It's better for Satan to leave the people on earth to do evil than to kill them. God kills them instead and prevents their evilness. ::)
Death is not the ultimate punishment, Hell is.
Alright, will read.

And right you are. God isn't murdering us he's taking us to heaven which is better than Earth. Satan can't kill anyway, something to do with something God + Jesus did.
though we are supposed to be completely free willed, my free will says leave me to my own devices

What's so bad about death? :P He gave us life and a soul, why shouldn't he have the right to take them as well?

Weird conclusion... Perhaps there are exceptions? The three best students in the school where I studied since 5th grade were all Christians. That didn't corrupt their minds or "washed" their brains. One studies to become a doctor. The other studies forensic science. If people conclude such a thing from the fact that, according to many, Christians "CAN'T" believe in science, then I must say you could be wrong. I have wanted to be a scientist and an artist all of my life. And I am Christian. Science never made me doubt of my faith. And no, I don't believe in all of what the Bible says. That was written by men in ancient times, not by a superior being's hand.
One of the three students I talked about was me. I am going to study computer science.
Ancient Christians and Today's religious fanatics may criticize the rest of the world. But aren't the rest doing the same? Many teenagers laugh at believers because they think it's "stupid". Isn't that being intolerant, too? Then we're at hand.
Why can't we just learn to respect each other's point of view? What's so hard about it!
One of my best friends is bi-sexual AND Wiccan. The other is a complete atheist and almost idolatrizes Chick Norris (LOL). I don't read the Bible nor go to Church, yet I am a believer. I am not a saint either. Nobody is. I don't laugh at you for not believing, or at other religions for believing something else. I respect them.
There. We're all different.

Update: I never read this because I realized I don't give a shit. Thank you, that is all.
This is a very interesting book. Good choice, Roph.
