Ok, I searched for this but I didn't find anything that might solve my problem. I'm trying to make a summoning system and need to know how to make it so that a timer starts when you use the skill to summon a monster, and then removes the monster from your group when the timer stops.
I think that's the exact reason why final fantasy did it animation wise...it was just easier to have a small animation and deliver the damage. (then again I could be wrong)
i'd use triggers and events and what not in the battle (not exactly sure how this would happen since I haven't done one) for bosses it's easier, but for each enemy...hmm
You're right, I'll just stick to battle animations. Thanks anyway.
