How Many RPGs Have You Made?
I want to know how many complete RPGs you have made in total. Feel free to discuss anything related here. lol
Lol, I've made none, but I'm working on one now.
Ermmm....none.
I'm working on all the stuff in my sig. Well Im not, cause its on hold, but you know.
hmm lets see... compleate games... i'd say 4, but nothing big... these 2 i am working on that are listed in my sig are gona be the bigest ones i make...
I never made one to, I did made a half one but it doesn't count.
Now working in ine but i'm not good at making up names soooo can't tell you what its called lol
I've made one, it was called Kingdom of Knights (my game which I think now is too lame to be called a game so i call it a test game), it was about 3 hours of game play, 100% RPT :-\

I'm working on a pretty well known one here, which kinda ends up sucking because everyone likes it...and I haven't even released a demo yet! lol but don't worry everyone it will live up to your expectatons.

and the way around that is... give no info on the game at all... Like me, you can't find info for the games I am making... ANYWHERE other than the little info i got on my sig...
I've made none, but I'm just starting to make my first one :)
awesome... will gladly await your game... XD
I made three
Tower of weed
Tower of weed 2
Tower of weed rehab
They were 1% rtp I drew all the graphics ;8 If you saw the cat monster I drew you will know what the game looked like...
I finished rehab but didn't get it edited, because my computer complettly died, and I go this one.
All three soul refrians and Darkwurld. Also, I'm going to rerelease The 3 sould refrain games as Soul Refrain complete. Well After I do Lord of The Pimp Canes. And I'm still writing the plot on that one. So soul refrain complete won't be around for a WHILE.
Well, counting that last one, zero.
I've started...4...never finished 1...
Made alot for pratice. 1 was done and was pratice. It was my VERY FIRST game i made. about 10 others i was making for pratice. and so far soon to be 2 to be posted on the forums. Will be more.
Seems like alot of ppl havnt actually done any at all, just "working" on them. I didnt get rmxp that long ago so im working on my first "major" project. (which still needs a better name is someone can think of one!)

Same here. I just got XP like a month ago and I can't seem to start on a single project.
I need a story line.
Bump
What type of stories are you interested in (i can usually knock up some random story line somewhere or other)
I finally got RPG Maker XP and this is my first serious attempt to make a full game. I had plenty of practice on RPG Maker 2003. I started making a game where you have to travel the world to get keys that unlock more dungeons that went further and futher down. All were randomly generated. If I remember, I only did the first dungeon, which was 20 floors, and the second which was 40.
I have finished a half. It has more than 10 hours of gameplay for now. The full game will have 20+ hours plus a few side secret quests and levels.

i...sorta peed my pants
Seriously. :=
I begin doing a game about 2 days before the join date on this forum. I guess I'd progress more if I'm not wasting hours and hours on figuring out what priority and what passability and what directional pass and what obscuring and what countertop should I put where on each tile of the tilesets and on each one of the layers to look and function as god commands since, ofcourse, I do not have predefined setup as I'm using tilesets not belonging to the starting project. Yeah, I'm destrutively pissed off because this procedure is absurdly boring.
But I believe it won't be a waste of time.
I think the more actual effort you put into your game, the more fun and addicting it will be. :)

I definitely agree. For example, while I'm making a game it happens to me that I come up with some event that could occur. Then when I start thinking about all the situations and reactions that should happen with that particular event, I realize I should make 10 more events, 10 switches and 6 pages for each to make it look really, really convincing...a lot of work but when I think that a player will actually like the fact he can walk around the village for an hour and do just stuff, investigate and entertain itself as much as it like, I believe it's all paid out.
I started my first one two days ago.

Quite true. My first game took a month to make and..don't even get me started. But I'm makeing my first XP game now and it's looking great. Because I'm spending time on it.
I have never really tried to make a Rpg maker game, im not that big on rpg maker. In GM I must have made over 50 not fully made games, because I would have THE BEST IDEA EVER and work for a week on it in a mad frenzy doing everything as best I could, then halfway through I would be spriting the same medeivel stuff, and go see a megaman tileset, and go OMG FUTURISTIC GAME, its this disease called ADD. I swear I can never work on a project for more than three weeks until I think of a better one.
Same here...with Game Maker at least. Usually I end up switching because I really can't figure something out, or my DAMN DATA GETS CORRUPTED. I had perfected a working castlevania system, based on Richter Belmont, and the fucker got CORRUPTED! AFUAGFPINFWIBVP{BFYPWBFFUI!B!!! But yeah, same deal with me.

I have that problem, the secret is to back up your data everytime you save

here is a trick, never add an mp3 into gamemaker, it always corrupts it for me.
Yeah, that ended up being the problem. It was a remix of the theme "Beggining" and it was a bit too large...WHY AM I SO DUMB?!
This would make a great sticky.
Lol,
Yeah I never knew so many people abandoned there games..
66% of games are not completed or never made. Imagin if people didn't forget about them and made more.
:o :o
Let's spam the internet with Rpg GAMES !!!!
w00t
80%, I'd say.
It's sad how many games arn't made or not finished.
I have started 6 games. And I finished 2.
The problem about making a game is you get part of the way through and never finish because you end up not liking the story / game play / graphics.
I am thinking about starting ANOTHER game, I must be nuts lol.

Exactly. And I try not to start other games...it hurts.
I always have tht problem. I get half-way through and decide I dont like the beginning storyline so start again... lol
I was working on the Broken Sheath project for a long ass time, slating it to be a massive open-ended game, but I realized early on that the idea was way too ambitious. So I'm working on another game, which may or may not use the Broken Sheath name, and I'm hoping the fresh idea I had for this one will stay fresh as I make it.
I wish everyone stuck to their projects. But people just get bored of working on them.
I've made about 3-4 or so (I started a lot more but never planned on finishing them, just trying out new techniques) but most of them were just short games except for one I made way back in RPG Maker 98. I wish I had that one still but I'd probably just laugh at how bad I was at it when I made it ;D

Same here. My first game was awful.
most people here will quit their games...believe me its common....
hmmm..The game I am making right now is actually the first game I have ever attempted to make...so I guess I'm still 1/1 ;D
What game are you working on now?

No.
Wow, 29 votes.
I say, don't give up on a game. Improve it instead. But on the other side who would want to spend months on a game with only 3 hours playtime? The bigger you make it, the better it can turn out, but you need to make it better if it gets bigger. Nobody's gonna play a game with 20 hours of playtime if it's not fun enough.
My trick not to get bored and cancel my game is simple: I work on it when I feel like it. Mostly I work for a month on it and then I get sick of it. Another time I get the itches to work on it again. ;D
lol, yeah I have basically been doing tht aswell. Just got the need to do some more now. Off I go!^^
Start to spend time on your games people! And never give up!

Pretty much thats what I did with DW. Hence why it took FOREVER. Also, when I finally got done making it I got sick of it. So bliz, if you're finishing up the last 20 minutes of a game and you get 100% sick of the game, plase don't be surprised.
I have played it through at least 20 times till now, not to mention how many times I played several levels through and how many times I have roamed around to find mapping mistakes...
I don't even expect not to get sick of it. But it won't b the last 20 minutes. It will happen during the last few debug runs, beta tests and scripting add-ons. =/
Well, at least you took into ccount getting sick of it. I think more people need to take that into account, maybe then there would be more finished games.
Precisely. I can't stand the part that is playable in the Final Demo anymore. I have a savegame that goes on from the night in Vendetta where Jason leaves Endout and Lilith alone. I always start playing from there. Yes, sometimes I play my own game just for fun. And yes, sometime I just take a look at the intro scene before the title just for fun. I really enjoy working on my game and seeing the things I have accomplished and how they work. :)
I'm enjoying mine all over again...hehe...

I've played your demo 7 times....it's addicting.
Believe me, I have played it t least 15 times through out of fun, not because I had to make a debug run, lol!
