What is your current or future occupation?
I plan on becoming a great chef for a high rated restraunt in Downtown <somewhere>.

Well, to get a car and stuff, I want to get a job at a bookstore.
But for a CAREER I want to go into resource design for videogames.

Right now I'm college student. (Let's ignore R:2 for now...)
I hope I can found an own software and game development company one day. I mainly want to be game designer, not only in the programming part, but in graphic design, music composing and scenario directing as well. (^__^)

I plan on becoming a Lawyer, not really but Own a Law Firm. and of course do what my dady does..BUY AND SELL LAND WHEN ITS WORTH TONS OF MONEY. =D

MODERN ARCHITECT.
But first, an RN. I feel sorta obliged to become one because all my aunts have something to do in the hospital (NO, not janitors).
But yeah MODERN ARCHITECT. Hate suburby and/or gaudy houses (like the kind you see on MTV). Bleargh.

Music. Composition, mainly. For movies, videogames, television, or even band-related or orchestra-related solo artist work. Of course, there's nothing wrong with collaboration, either.
And since I'm at a music school, that means I'll also be capable of doing performance gigs, various computer-related work (like transcribing other artist's work into formats like Finale) arrange/orchestrate other people's scores for different instruments, and I'll even be qualified to run a recording session by myself.
So it's not like I'm just gonna be composing, and nothing else, because that's incredibly unrealistic. ::)

i'm in the beginning years of my college career towards getting a degree in information technology so i can go into software design.

Astronomy, Microbiology (alien biology), software engineer, contemporary artist, film director or effects production. So many freakin intrests.
Off topic, I can't believe I only now found out about RO. Where the hell have I been?

Officially, I'm on my way to becoming a chef. I'm going to get my qualifications in like a month. It's sorta interesting, though not my main interest.
Lately I haven't been able to write a decent (in my own standards) peice of music, which is annoying me. I'd be happy to do something similar to arlen's post, though I don't have any formal qualifications or anything. I sort of have confidence though that if I studied music academically I could get into it pretty easily though.
The same goes for the nerdiest bit of all, the html/php/css/mysql/javascript quintet. In the whole run of that I'm still way down at the novice level though.

Real Estate is a great way to make money, my father made a ton of money off real estate in Florida.
I personally want to aim towards something in computers, but I'm not sure what it will be.

Well, weird, but i always wanted to become a doctor, who doesnt fail (ARROWONE LOL jk) a neurosurgeon (brain) or a cardiac doctor ( heart). Well, who knows what is to come.
These days i am also practicing tabit, with a lot of help from Zypher, so maybe if i turn good, i can make that my side job. But i will concentrate on medical most.
Or maybe engineer
or king
or maybe a cook.
or maybe a writer.
or maybe a theif
or maybe a.....

Speak for yourself. My mother has been a realator for 14 years and we're middle class, yet she hasn't made much income the past few years. Although some are successful.

As a career, I'm going to do something involving computers. I'm undecided as to any specifics though. Music composition sounded intriguing, but it's really something I'd rather keep as a hobby.
Video editing and production is also something I'm starting to look into.

My current occupation... I own a graphic design firm, doing website design, identity, printwork, marketing, all the way to tv and radio spots for my clients...
What I would like to do is design games... which is why I'm here wandering about in all of your minds, learning... learning... mwah ha ha...

Hrmmm...I would like to someday (hopefully) be a comic book artist. Both art and story. I dunno WHY, exactly...I just do. My friends, though, keep telling me whenever I mention it that it wont work and that I shouldn't try. BAHA. I laugh at them.

lol, hey, I haven't posted here yet.
My future occupation will be pretty similar to arlen's, only focused more solely on orchestral and band music. Percussion ensemble pieces as well. In fact, as it turns out, a perc. ensemble piece I wrote last year will probably be published, as I talked to my boss about it, since it was used for marching band performance last year, so that'll be a nice $500 check. ^_^ Plus the about $25 each time someone purchases the score (which will probably rarely happen, realistically), and then over time that price will increase.
Writing music for band and orchestra is actually a pretty well paying job, it's just the getting your first major publication so people know who you are and will buy your music that's the hard part, so I still have a long way to go.
And then there's another percussion piece as well as my first symphony I've sent for publication consideration. Without a live recorded performance, the symphony will probably not happen (and I don't have the money to hire our orchestra. Paying by the hour for rehearsal time gets expensive). But if the symphony does by chance get picked up, that'll be a nice fat check. ^____^
So, lol, I know it sounds like I'm mainly in this for the money. Which is only partially true. I mean, yeah, money's great, but realistically if I was in this for the money, I'd choose a different career, as I'm going to be pretty poor for a while. But I love writing music, and it's all I'm good at, really, other than playing it.

I have too many choices. T_________T Because I can do this, I can do that, and blah. BLAH. LOL. (what's so funny about that? xD)
Let's see:
Novelist (my main goal), Poet (secondary goal), Graphic Designer, Composer (I can use piano and have wrote 2 short sheets), Illustrator (still studying CG), Game Maker (I doubt I can, though), Language Teacher (I am multi-lingual), Translator, Screenwriter, Movie Director, and blah blah blah blah.

Well, it's still a very long, long time until I need to work. Maybe.
