Hello, everyone. And now for my first post.

I'm making a game on XP, and I don't like the battle system. I have seen a few sideview battle systems shown here and on a few other sites.

For my game, I'm hand-drawing all of the in-battle battlers. What I want to do is to make the characters move forward and then change images to show the attack process. Example.

Xionixx is standing in battle lineXionixx runs forwardXionixx attacks

Now, I would go and draw in all the poses it takes to perform the attack. What I don't know is how or which script to use in order to make this. Was this clear enough or do I need to clarify?

You could just use battle animations. For Each attack, make the user fade out, and the attack animation the moving sprites you drew. I did that in 2003 once.

So if I read correctly, make the attack animations replace the Attack Animations like slashes and such, right?

Yes, that's right.

or you can use a script like cybersam's or minkhoff's which require diffrent battler sheets. Search round on other forums (not advertising)

Alright, the Minkhoff one works for me. One problem though, the monster sprites (or the subsitute i have for now) are too low on the screen. I tried to see if I could find the section to edit positioning but I guess I couldn't.
Here are the scripts I'm using.

I hate to hate things.
You can position the monsters troops manually, in the troop editor section of the system submenu.
On the last row of sprites, in the middle (if you're using 8 frames per animation, around frame 4), that's the position where the monsters appears during the game. A little messy, but it works.
Only the heroes positions can only be changed by script.
I need some real WORKING AVI script in RMXP!
