About
LOE is a free Might and Magic inspired fan based game being created with Rpg Maker VX. LOE is an advanced cross between Might and Magic VII and Might and Magic IV & V – World of Xeen. Some of the features included in LOE include: a dynamic random treasure and enchantment system (more complex than the MM games), a six member party, over 20 skills and 70 spells, material bonus’s for equipment (silver, gold, etc), and much more.

Cutscenes are from oblivion, walls and equipment pictures are from might and magic 6-8. Other stuff I edited myself.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have completed a good chunk to the game in regards to the mechanics the physical world, and scripts that. I have about 51 maps which is pretty close to Might and Magic VI. I am currently working on dialogue, story, and quests.

Thanks! I am glad I got the resolution to work with VX it would have been a long process to conert all m ycustome scrpts even though the maps were transferable.

How have I not seen this before? This looks like it could be pretty fun, it reminds me of a game that my dad used to play a long time ago. I can't remember its name though. :-\

The graphics remind me of Meridian 59 and Betrayal at Krondor, though it doesn't sound as if the gameplay is similar to either game.

This was on a really old computer. You had to type in console commands to do stuff, and I think it was in black and white. I probably should've said that he played it as a kid. It was where you were stuck a 100 floors underground in a dungeon and had to reach the top. It had a similar battle system and you move around the same.

And the game is looking better and better, I for one am reminded of Lands of Lore when I see it. I was wondering about something though, can the characters equip any type of item? Like Draxilsm with a sword and heavy armor?

Thanks for the feedback. LOE uses the exact same system as Might and Magic VII for classes and skills. Draxilism being a sorcerer would only be able to use staves and daggers and can only wear leather armor. He can also use cloaks helmets gauntlets, etc... Also, specific classes can only gain a certain proficiency in certain skills. For instance, Draxilsm can use leather armor but he will never be able to grandmaster it. Sorcerers can only gain expert in the skill of leather armor. Also, in order to expert, master, and grandmaster skills classes will also need the required promotions. Each class has two upgrades: Paladin > Crusader > Hero, Sorcerer > Wizard > Archmage, etc... So depending on how you play rpgs choosing the right classes will be vital in your survival through the game! For a full list of skills and class usage you can read the information here:

This is the latest trailer as of August, 8, 2012. This video shows all of the latest changes such as the new treasure skill and the higher resolution update. All of the music played in the background is from the LOE OST which I am also currently composing.
NOTES: There may be some lag in the video due to the recording software. SFX have been disabled for the video. There is an error while transferring items to other characters. The window is not in the proper position.

Here is the latest updates for LOE. My dialogue and quest writer has now written 80 quests in total. I have all of of the promotion quests implemented into the database. I have added a few new creatures types to the bestiary. A few more dungeons have been created, and progress is moving along nicely.
Another important update is that, The Legend of Erthia is now going to be names, "Legend of Erthia - Armageddon." I am currently working on two LOE projects side by side this one which is Might and Magic inspired and Legend of Erthia - The Etheral Gate (Ultima inspired). Having the main title and subtitles will help distinguish between the too projects.
Below is an image of the new title, wallpaper, image of the free LOE - Armageddon OST (WIP) which you can download, and a video showing the new menu and two of the main compositions to the game (Main Theme and Armageddon). Thanks again, and I will try to post updates more frequently.

I finished the day and night system for LOE - Armageddon. Shops are closed after certain hour and it gets dark out. I am also partial way with the atmosphere and weather system. Message boxes are not so square anymore and blend better with the gamer. I am also using transparency effects with the shops to blend right in with the game as well. I am also adding in dungeon depth such as darkness. Basically, the further you look it gets darker.
Also, here is the 2013 up to date map of Erthia! I jsut finished it a few days ago.

The screenshots look amazing. The only thing that sticks out to me is the icon images (not the weapon ones though), they just kinda clash with the realism to me. Like the icon of the Meat and the bag of gold mostly.

Thanks Hiromu656! They are just basic rpg maker icons for now. Once I get more work done I will get the proper graphics for the little things and npc face portraits.

This is the last trailer of LOE - Armageddon before the conversion from VX to ACE. The video shows different parts to the game with all of the latest updates. The composition in the video is the new arrangement I composed for LOE - Armageddon's main theme. I composed it for this trailer. NOTE: NPC portraits are still not imported yet so that is why you see a big question mark as the faces.
A big thanks to Ubisoft for making this project possible by granting permission to use assets from MMIV-VIII.
