Title: script please...
Post by: &&&&&&&&&&&&& on December 07, 2006, 12:46:02 AM
I need a script so that when you push the button for the menu to open it goes right to itmes and you can't get to the menu only item.

and

can you make a script so that when you start the game and have the chooser on new game then switch it to load, it changed the title screen?

So, lemme try to get this, you want no menu, you go straight to the item scene?

I'm confused on the last part, you want the title background to change with the selection, right?

 Sorry. Ok, I will now do this and not type like a monkey. My first request was that, you know normally when you play a rpm make game it takes you to the menu with ITEMS etc, well I want it so that when you push that button it takes you directly to the items menu.

 The second part was a completely different thing. In that part I was asking for this...

... like that. When you are over MEW GAME then got to load the title screen would change when you move it to load. Uhhh, it was hard to type like that... i wants to go backs to tyeing this way now....

That's not what he wants.

I'll give this a shot when I get home from school.

To do the item thing:
Go to scene_map in the database, in there search for Scene_Menu, replace that with Scene_Item, it should work.

Blizzard can you do this?
Title: Re: script please...
Post by: Blizzard on December 08, 2006, 04:01:50 PM
It's easy to make that stuff. For the first one, open the scripts editor, open Scene_Item, change it to Scene_Menu and in the same script find every line that says
Code: [Select]
$scene = Scene_Menu.new
OR SIMILAR and change it into
Code: [Select]
$scene = Scene_Map.new

And the second can be done by a newbie scripter easily. But I'll do it, after I've read through all the new posts. It should be less than 10 lines or 20 if I make it lagless (what I will do of course, lol). ::)

EDIT:

This goes into a new script.

Code: [Select]
#==============================================================================
# Scene_Title
#==============================================================================

class Scene_Title

  alias upd_title_by_choice_later update
  def update
    update_the_title
    upd_title_by_choice_later
  end

  def update_the_title
    @title_frame = @command_window.index if @title_frame == nil
    if @command_window.index != @title_frame
      @title_frame = @command_window.index
      @sprite.bitmap = RPG::Cache.title("title#{@title_frame}")
    end
  end

end

Open the orginal Scene_Title (in def main) and find

Code: [Select]
    # Play title BGM
    $game_system.bgm_play($data_system.title_bgm)
    # Stop playing ME and BGS
    Audio.me_stop
    Audio.bgs_stop

Just under these lines add this command:

Code: [Select]
update_the_title

Name your title frames title0, title1 and title2. Done.

I don't know I took so long to reply but I cant get it to work right.  I can get it to work up until there is a save file. When I start the game the cursor starts on 'LOAD" but the title screen show the "new game" backdrop. When I moved it to "new game" then back it works again...

That's why you have to do this.

Open the orginal Scene_Title (in def main) and find

Code: [Select]
    # Play title BGM
    $game_system.bgm_play($data_system.title_bgm)
    # Stop playing ME and BGS
    Audio.me_stop
    Audio.bgs_stop

Just under these lines add this command:

Code: [Select]
update_the_title

These lines here

Code: [Select]
    # Play title BGM
    $game_system.bgm_play($data_system.title_bgm)
    # Stop playing ME and BGS
    Audio.me_stop
    Audio.bgs_stop

should be just over

Code: [Select]
Graphics.transition

did i put it in the right place?

(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi109.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fn52%2Fdreamslayer7%2FNewBitmapImage2-1.jpg&hash=4b633f318656d7785cb88bc30ad49c9b527bebe2)

It still won't work. so, your reading this right now?

You did copy the code and put the command into the Scene_Title (yes, it's the correct place) and it doesn't work? You also named your frames title0, title1 and title2? If it doesn't work atfer all of this attach your Scripts.rxdata to a post and I will fix it myself.

 :tpg: No point in you fixing it, Tower is dead... I just get script problem after problem, so, I'm going back to 2003, I finished a couple of games with that one.
