yellow the way the yellow lad followed you around was a nice touch
True the variety of starters in the others was nice but only having Pikachu made it a bit more fun to play, since you needed to build up a good team before really doing anything, making it a bit more engaging and personal. The others...you could just go ahead with bulbasaur or squirtle right through the first 2-3 gyms with hardly any other pokemon.ur bad at pokemon
How is missingno possible?
He'd half to pre-exist in the database right?
I don't see how talking to the trainer dude, flying to cinnebar island and moving up and down on the right side of the island makes a jacked up pokemon.

how so? my first time playing through any pokemon game I only whited out once...it was against a poison trainer that I wasn't ready for (I was training low-level pokemon on cycle road and he spotted me as I tried to edge around him; Pikachu was already low on health) I should've taken him out beforehand but I had forgotten about him at the moment.True the variety of starters in the others was nice but only having Pikachu made it a bit more fun to play, since you needed to build up a good team before really doing anything, making it a bit more engaging and personal. @arkbennett--do you mean wobbuffet? or substitute?
Thank you Zephyr, I always wondered how it worked, and I understand now.
So wouldn't that mean that missingno. was purposely put in the database?
(Seeing how his name is conveniently stands for missingnumber.)
If the players name determines which pokemon and what level they are at.
@arkbennett
I haven't really seen missingno in the game, but if that's his in-game name it was probably put in there in case of a glitch. So technically he might be in the database in case of an error or something...but if his name is ? then it's a sprite glitch.
I remember this one glitch called "Glitch City"... I don't remember the whole thing but the gist of it is: you go into the safari zone, do not take a step instead save, go back in, say no, go back out, fly to cinnabar, and the entire island turns into a green glitch city. Pikachu doesn't follow you--it's more like a house of mirrors: pikachu will pop up in different places and walk in random directions and disappear udner tiles. You can still surf and everything... I think that's the glitch, I found it online and tried it. Didn't do anything to my game but I didn't save there.
BTW is there really an item called wardensglasses in G/S/C to open the safari zone? I heard the old man in...where is it...goldenrod or something...the town with the casino and radio tower, the old man wandering around near bill's house is the safari warden on vacation. Is that true? No, no way to get on the safari zone. When I looked up glitch city, they said it couldn't be done in Crystal, Gold, Silver because no access to it.
To answer Missingno, it does not exist. I have tried on all three original Pokemon games "Red, Yellow and Blue" to no avail. Unless I'm doing something wrong, it does not work, I have tried at least four or more ways to get Missingno, none worked, including the one posted in this thread.
I've seen it also, it does work. So does the pokemon duplication in gold, which also duplicates items the pokemon is holding. Rare candy=HAX.
I caught a missing no in my game. The trick never worked again for me. ;9
The purpose of Pokemon is to catch them all, not rush through gyms with one pokemon. And it is just as easy going through the first few gyms (the whole game, probably) with a single pokemon in Yellow as it is in Blue/Red.how so? my first time playing through any pokemon game I only whited out once...it was against a poison trainer that I wasn't ready for (I was training low-level pokemon on cycle road and he spotted me as I tried to edge around him; Pikachu was already low on health) I should've taken him out beforehand but I had forgotten about him at the moment.True the variety of starters in the others was nice but only having Pikachu made it a bit more fun to play, since you needed to build up a good team before really doing anything, making it a bit more engaging and personal. (stupid) Question: would a pokemon yellow ROM have the same glitches as the game? (well duh, probably yeah)
@cheweyNo. I call being bad at a game.
you call that being bad in a game?
I caught a missing no in my game. The trick never worked again for me. ;9
I had to restart after the second or so day I caught glitch pokemon like a level 170 Golbat and Missingno.
Anyone who believes in more then 150 pokemon FAIL.
I agree. I like some of the new ones but most of them...they could've done without.
i think the question here is, DO YOU LIEKK MUDKIPZ

...Did no one notice that Bluexx just posted here, outside of Sword and now myself?
Because he used to be awesome, duh.
I feel inclined to tell the tale of the Japanese only green version. Yep, it really exists.
Let me explain some old history... the very first pokemon game to come out was green version. It was in Japan only, and was only available through a special mail order. That game turned out to do alright, so they decided to re-release it as blue version, with many graphics changed, as well as a few other things. blue version became a hit, so they produced red, and sent that one overseas as well, and then yellow version, because of the fans all saying that the games need to be more based off of the television show.
Now let me explain the game color code. You'll notice that in pokemon red version, (if you play it off of a GBC or GBA, but not a regular GB), you'll notice that the little guy on the screen is green, and the background is red.
In pokemon blue version, the little guy you control is red, and the background is blue.
Finally, in pokemon green version, the little guy you control is blue, and the background is green.
So while Blue was just a revamped edition of green, it did have links to it that would suggest that the games are meant to be taken separately.
Interesting, right? I have pokemon green version right here, and some of the pokemon images have them in different poses and stuff than in blue.
But I still voted Blue. Yep, good old. Blue.

A lot of people have played green I should think.
I did. You can get it via emulator.
Which reminds me, does anybody know where to get Ruby and Fire Red via Emulator?
I'm searched almost everywhere.

If you're too lazy to get firefox and abp, got to emurussia. both of those sites rock, I use them regularly.
