Title: Favorite Bosses Topic
Post by: Arrow on February 07, 2008, 04:38:02 AM
ITT your favorite final boss. Who was the coolest, the hardest, the most awesome?

Obviously I gotta say Sigma here.

As well as, of course, 9 Ball.

But I would also like to submit Gary from Pokemon: Blue Version.

And let's not forget the formidable Controller from Armored Core 3- that thing is a BITCH. It's a moving TOWER, and it's ENORMOUS, and the WHOLE THING IS SHOOTING MISSILES AND LASERS AT YOU, AND YOU HAVE TO CLIMB IT, AND EVEN THE WALLS ARE SHOOTING AT YOU, AND THERE'S HARDLY ANY ROOM TO MANEUVER, AND IT'S LIKE PCHOO PCHOO PCHOO! And then it dies.

Oh, and if you don't have the right core, the two A.I. Cores you have to take on right beforehand can be murder too.

So yeah, you guys, final bosses, go.

The Creator From Star Ocean 3 (Big Scale Attack plus Wings, Win!)

I think I'll make this just a favorite bosses thread.

And yes, of course Jappy. :3

Now, in line with using regular bosses too:

Overdrive Ostrich was cool, just because his character design was awesome. (Mega Man X2)

Burst Man was awesome because he was man enough to have TWO weaknesses, AND fight with BUBBLES! (Mega Man 7)

Fanfare and Valkyrie were a deadly combo. I couldn't beat them in anything less than a top class heavy weight tank type core. (Armored Core 3)

smithy. I love his music.

I don't know how I forgot him! He's bad ass- for his music, and for the fact that one of his final battle forms is the pink panther in an iron mask.

Hardest is without doubt Maya when you fight her on top of the Chrysler Building in Parasite Eve. That battle is insane, cool and whatever. Stuff like that added with some sparkles.

Apsu in Sailor Moon was pretty awesome and hard too. The music sucked major balls tho.

3. Mother Brain from Phantasy Star 2. I'm not sure why this is really one of my favorites.
2. Yiazmat from Final Fantasy XII. It was so ridicuously hard that it was actually kinda fun.
1. Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts. The difficulty and the awesome music made it such an intense battle.

Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts was, yeah, really fun, lol.

My other favorite boss is EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF GOD OF WAR 2.
Actually, no, fighting the three sisters was the best battle in that game, and it was so amazing.

All forms of Xenmas on Kingdom Hearts II.

The fights were very dramatic, especially the ones with just Sora and Riku. Very fun to play!

That robot guy that you fight in Sector X who goes all "WHERE IS THE CRE-A-TOR" and "DE-STROY, DE-STROY."

Why am I the first person to bring up Star Fox 64.

I like him and I like the guy from the asteroid belt. (the one in the rock crusher)

Oh, and now that I'm thinking of Pokémon, the rival you have in Gold/Silver/Crystal is clearly the most badass trainer ever.

...Not quite. ::)

Hmm... I'm trying to think of bosses I've liked from Sonic games.  It's... kinda tough.

BUT UM... there's that one match before the jungle/forest levels in Sonic Adventure 2, and when Shadow takes damage he says "I'm the coolest!" for some strange, unknown reason.

Evokes a fit of giggles every time.

Andau from Master of the Wind proved that great boss fights are possible in RMXP. Just when you think it's hard enough already, you get a twist.

Crazy Hand from SSBM was great. Two of those hands are hell.

Hmm, well, if final boss, I've already answered. Nyx Avatar from P3.

But, if secret boss, Satan from DDS2 is so so so annoying, but it's so pleasing when I finally beat him!! XD

If regular boss, I like Caim from Drakengard 2. OMG HE'S SO HOT. and BLOODY~

I agree that the battle against Frank Fontaine in Bioshock was awesome. The first time I got to him was like; what the fuck? o_0

Zeromus is an interesting final boss as well, and his battle theme is awesome.

The long and mind-raping battle against Giygas in Earthbound will always be remembered. Now to finish up EB Zero as well...

I'm pretty sure Fawful is a girl. Never played the second one, though.
I thought Fawful was a guy at first, but I'm pretty sure something in the game that she says refers to herself as a she, or maybe it was her boss. Can't remember her name. But I'm pretty positive it's a girl.

Adding: Lich Lord {Guild Wars)
Spoiler for Guild Wars: Undead Rurik, Hundred Blades is just so kick ass!

Crystal King from Paper Mario. Though I could most likely beat him today with no problems, he was such a hard boss when I was younger. It took me a long time to finally beat him. I don't know why he's my favorite boss of all time, but he was so memorable for me. There was something about him that made him seem cool. MAYBE IT WAS THE SNOW AND ICE THAT MADE HIM SEEM COOL, GET IT?
