Title: 2k3 battle anims
Post by: iceflame1019 on July 31, 2007, 07:09:50 PM
Just a quick qeustion, more may follow.  THis one I ask before I get home today:

I am making a Sephiroth character and for one of his special attacks he jumps up and falls like he did to kill Aeris in FF7.  The animation works fine, but I have a picture off the net of Sephiroth falling holding his sword, and I want that to overlay on the screen just before his animation jumps.  The attack animation is set to local instead of global so that he attacks specfic enemies, but I want the one image to be global so that it is centered in the screen instead of centered on the enemy.

Any suggestions on how to do this?  Currently the image is part of the local animation so he appears right over the enemy, and oftentimes he's off-screen (because of said enemy centering) and it's hard to tell what the image is.

ANYONE?!?!?

I sat in front of 2k3 for a while last night and still couldn't figure out a method...can someone at least tell me if this is doable?

Kind of explained poorly. I really don't understand what you're trying to do.

Okay then:

If I have an animation, set to local instead of global, is there a way I can overlay a "global" pic at the beginning of the attack?

Sephiroth goes up to an enemy and attacks that one specifically, but I want the net image I have to be in the center of the screen, not centered on the enemy he's attacking.

As no one else is answering I'll go ahead and say probably not. Sadly there are a few things in 2k3 were a more complex system, or even a customisable system like XP would really be nice. But in my opinion it's 2oo3's basic nature that gives it its charm.

If your really concerned with the details why not use XP? Not that I really enjoy sending people over to that side but it would give you a lot more freedom.

Perhaps someone else has a way for you to do this, if not, does it really matter?
