This is a mapping tutorial for the RTP Forest tileset.  This tutorial is pretty basic, so bare with me.

*Note* Remember, the first rule of mapping outside: Nature is random.

Here we go:

Start out making a new map, mine is 25x40.

Step One:

On the first layer add some grass.

Spoiler for:

Step Two:

Still on the first layer, lets add some dirt.

Spoiler for:

Step Three:

Let's add some trees. Do this using the second and third layersRemember the third layer will overlap the second.

Spoiler for:

Step Four:

Now, we need to add some plants and rocks around to make it look more like a forest.

Spoiler for:

Step Five:

Next we'll add some animals.

Spoiler for:

Step Six:

Add some fog and some weather effects, if you wish.

Here's what it will look like in game.

Spoiler for:

If you're unsure of how to add the rain effect, read this.

Spoiler for:
Step One:
Make a new event in a random area on the map.

Step Two:
Find the Set Weather Effect button.

Step Three:
Select the weather and power.

Set the event to parallel process, and your done. :]

All feedback is appreciated, more to come.  :seafood:
