Demon's Lair Mapping Tutorial

Aye, everyone.Ye Cap'n 'ere be making a tutorial...as good as gro.....*cough*

Uhm..

Well, seeing that a mapping tutorial featuring a demon's lair is pretty rare; I've made one for ye all.
This tutorial is made for: newbs at mapping or people who just want to get better at mapping.
In this tutorial, we're talking about step-to-step phases in the mapping creation.
The map we're making is 40X40, a not too big not too small size, to easier management and less lagging when adding events
Well then, let's begin!

First of all, Make a new map on the left bar and name it anything you want!
I'll name it "Demon's Hallway" just to show you.

Next, customize the properties into anything you want;BGM,BGS, Encounters or anything else.
The map size I'm making is 40X40.

#1# Fill the First Layer with the floor tiles.
So, it would look like this. THis is the the beggining of the map, so of cours it looks dull!
But, it won't be after we finish it with our mapping touches!!!!

#2# Decide what shape you want the ruins to be,
in this case; I'm going to make a map consisted of halls and bridges.
In the Second Layer, of course.
Don't forget to decide which is the exit and which is the entrance, so decide.
And make it so...

Try to Create the Dungeon with the walls provided. In which case I'm making a few small rooms and a bridge spanning half a length of the map, and stairs going lower to the next room.
This is the second phase of the dungeon making. Details are added later in the last phases.

#3# Making a Platform Bridge
You might already know what the hexagon thing in the Demon's Lair tileset is, but some people don't.
Ye Cap'n will tell ye : It be a platform.
Like on the Depth of Darkness Tileset.

See the resemblance?
Yep, They be the same.
They're PLATFORMS!
Advancing....
In this phase, bridges will be made.

And you will see that the height and dimensions of the map is nice to look at.
The more height you put in your map, the better it will look.

#4# The Finishing Touches
Well, time to add spice to the map!
Use iron bars, gargoyle statues and light crystals often, and add variations to the map to your liking.

Well, that's it, an ambient, dark, abyss, haunted, and creepy demon's lair.

#*#Demon's Lair Eventing Tips
-Use dark-colored Light Sprites
-Use demon or skeleton characters when inside; excluding story-related events.
-Always remember that the cave part of the tileset is always available, beside the walls.
-Make it Dark.
-I use the "Circle of Light" Script, don't you?
-When making tombs, use spirit sprites that flies around the field.
Spoiler for Game Screenies:

shaz goes to find Circle of Light script and tries to think of where this map might fit into her game
Always remember you're unique.
Just like everybody else.
