Yay! :) Now I can view this page without Chrome lagging!(Because of the giant post)
Also, yes, most of it is music. I put in the music that I'll be using here later so that I don't have to worry about it at the current time. Also, they are MP3s (that's the only format I use) ^^;;
Ironically enough, the "wall" bit that Remi talks about was in reference to a barrier I had in the old world mapo_O WhoOoOps... i don't think about those walls...
I really liked that song, so I decided to make a MIDI of it out of boredom. You got me wanting to try the Touhou series now.WOW... you can made midi?!
How to script it eh....hmmm. I actually was thinking of doing something like that in a way for a boss, though not for final. Final boss is meant to be like....well...I don't think it's ever used in any FF game, but I know it's used in a Ys game. The idea being that you essentially use EVERYONE in the final battle, though in multiple parties (I guess you can say like with Bizarro Sephiroth in FFVII). Though whether or not I'll have it preset per party is a completely different matter. Can't say WHO the final boss is though since that'd spoil it for peoples~
As for knowing your way around in my game, I think I have an idea for it, which is shown in beta4 (which I may show in a video or something, not sure yet). As in, after completing an area, and going to the world map, you get a "A new event has appeared!" message and it shows you where at. Might do that for earlier in the game as well...
Huuuuh? You're not even supposed to get Nitori for that fight...actually, Nitori shouldn't even be there at all (you're supposed to get her with Momiji and Aya). What exactly did you do???
As for random game overs, I don't know why that happens. I think it's something with party members that are put into the party being KO'ed (in this instance, you're supposed to go back to Reimu as the main party member). So uh....I'm not quite sure what's going on?
EDIT - Also, about that with duplicate characters. That happens because I never implemented an event for the main character to always stay there. So in other words, if you change the order of your party and make someone like say....Reisen your leader....and you go into any event that would be like that, you'll always have her as your leader, even though she may be there herself. It's something I'll have to fix up later I think.
Damn it's really impossible, I can't bypass this problem :cI feel your pain buddy.
I think being Nitori died at the suwako part in that picture caused the problem. :C
Don't tell me I have to redo all of this stuff TT_TT
Dude I wanna cry wanna cry wanna cry!!!
I wanna fix this thing even if it costs hacking thru it just to fix this damn bug! TT_TT

This glitch has happened to me too. to avoid it you have to go on the left path to the tengu village first when it first switches to aya and momiji after the whole incident with tenshi keine and akyuu or else the whole thing F's up. if you dont have a save file that far back then you have to either hack it or restart to bypass it...
The Game overs i think are caused by the lead character having died in the last battle when it switches to them alone. happened when aya left at the scarlet devil mansion after meiling fight where the rest of the party was dead and that unfortunate situation you're in.
I mean I mean, before I've seen your post I tried something to bypass it.
that's my problem. XD
And as for your last post I'm downloading it at the moment :D
"Beta3 patch v1.8 (Lots of things fixed): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2C5ZMSQF" Part.
Edited:
Mkai Still didn't worked out.
I'll give up and restart it again, XD
I'll be back and post in this forum when I recovered where I really am in that game. XD
I'll just say it later, but for NOW............To solve this merely go here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TB82AJFO and patch it.
Another bug....
When yuyuko is waking up youmou ( netherworld ) to talk about something.
Yea youmou woke up and then she decided to follow yuyuko. "BUT" When I can control youmou now.
WHEN I tried "WALKING" I can't it's more like I'm stuck again. wrong tiles or something BLAME THE BEED!!! XD
When I tried pressing up button she just faces upward. when I tried pressing left/right she just faces left/right. same as the down button.
TT_TT
And yea for some reason I can "SAVE" in that bed O_O

I'm hoping that'll fix it (if he hasn't yet).It fixed it for me. and there should also be almost no glitches (except for minor ones that can be overlooked for now) afterwards to the end of beta 3.
I'm hoping that'll fix it (if he hasn't yet).It fixed it for me. and there should also be almost no glitches (except for minor ones that can be overlooked for now) afterwards to the end of beta 3.
The only major glitch after that is attempting to go back to the cave beneath the school, by going through the forest of magic and re-triggering the event at yokai mountain. That and the ones i told you about on youtube through PM's
well i fixed the bitmap image error..... except now when i go to that same point instead of closing the game it just sends me to the game over screen and then to the title screen..... i just started getting back into the game too.... if i have to win that kanako fight right before that then screw it im gonna go back to that healing hot spring and grind suwako to a much higher level, BECAUSE EVERY OTHER CHARACTER IS MOSTLY USELESS! im serious on that, both sanae and nitori dont have nearly enough health or defense to make to much of a difference (not to mention nitori cant even use any of your items, only the antidote and anti-freeze under stock, which cost mp for some reason...) and kanako...... 9 speed...... she just stands there for most of the fight going "You just wait, once that bar fills up in the next 5 mins and its my turn, im'ma kill ya" and then when shes gonna get her turn in the next 5 or 10 seconds, boss casts flare on her, she dies, and the ATB gauge is reset.... hell her attacks arent even strong enough to make it worth the wait, and if shes the last one standing, well you should just close and reopen the game cause she doesnt stand a chance by herself, unless you can magically get off an angel prayer, or the boss uses earthquakeas far as simply the game over after the exodus fight, did you have nitori in the party during the fight? cuz you're not supposed to. If that is what you did, you did some events in the wrong order. to fix it you need to go to the tengu village on the left path when you first are able to move around youkai mountain as momiji BEFORE you go to the moriya shrine. so you'll either have to start at a save before the youkai mountain to redo it, or restart.
Also, I need someone to test something for me and fight in the very first area (the entrance area) of Youkai Mountain and see if they get an error there. I do recall when I had someone stream my game, that they got an error there with a formation that was in the database and was supposed to show up there.I tested it out on a number of fights right in front of the replacement guard tengu at the base of the mountain right next to the teleporter.
First post updated with a list of references (many of which I'm probably still forgetting). I'll keep this updated as I remember them/add new ones.
Been busy with working on revamping the skills system. I ran into issues with how I wanted to do it, so I'm doing it another way, which is keeping it balanced as well. So I'm essentially killing two birds with one stone at the moment (skills system + map and story). Monsters and a final test run are required before I release this so....
Bugs and glitches are a bit different since some people have different ones than what I sometimes get. I actually DON'T get that many bugs/glitches myself, such as Yukari dividing by zero and crashing one of my tester's game for a really random reason. Only time I've ever seen it happen too :s
I pretty much have all of the characters set for the game at this point, minus a couple since I NEED original sprites for them. It's just working on the database and fixing stuff up there right now. Maps and advancing the story will come after that.
I always backup on my external whenever I do a large amount of work. Tis common practice with me since I've had bad luck in the past with other things.
Ok, so now I'm having issues....I'm nearing the end of the database for skills for the playable cast (minus the temporary ones), and well....not sure what to do exactly....let's go over what I have so far.
Utsuho: This is where I'm currently at, and right now, she as full-party "Self-Destruct" move (kills herself to do damage to all enemies = current HP), and currently has a Gravity/Demi based move. Now the question is, should Utsuho have % moves? And if so, what spellcards would best fit these moves? Keep in mind that there are also levels to skills now so....
Keine: I have nothing for her. I absolutely DON'T know what to do with her stuff at the current time....I'm sure there's SOMETHING I can do for her to make her unique, but as of right now, nothing I have. Maybe I can have her deal with Amnesia and Exclusion? Oh....speaking of Exclusion, that may be a new status effect (for those who've played DoSM/GoS, you'll already know what THIS status effect does).
Alice: Again, not sure what to do here. Probably just non-elemental magic damage? %MP damage? Something else...?
Koishi: Right now, she has White Wind as a Blue Magic, and will PROBABLY have a ????/Balance move if I get it working right (????/Balance being Damage = Maximum HP - Current HP). If anyone has suggestions for Blue Magic, go for it!
Other characters I gots nothing on. Iku will probably deal with Lightning attacks and Paralyze mostly, and Nue with random stuff. Not sure about Shou or Nazrin though....Nazrin wasn't even MEANT to have any abilities really....hmmmm....
Maps are close to done now, though I will probably be adding more to dungeons so they're a bit longer (such as probably Forest of Magic), and the SDM is getting yet a 3rd makeover. I have new tilesets, and the flooring/walling is better for this than what I'm using right now. At least with this one, it won't seem like the SDM looks the same as Eientei....If anyone would like to help on mapping, that would cut down on time for me as well, as I'm not really going to be touching maps THAT often between now and finishing up end maps.
Skills are pretty much DONE for the most part for characters, save for Koishi's Blue Magic and future characters. However, THIS is gonna take a while, for for me to make this skill system work right, I have to add in 1326 new switches....yes....that's how many moves have been made alone for the playable characters....that levels up....this is gonna take me quite a while to do, but I'll try and get it done! And this doesn't even include Command abilities yet, which I still need to make and make items for.....blech. There's not much anyone can do for me on this bit, unless they want to do coding and pass coding to me in like....Notepad or screenshots or something, which would help me as well. Current Command abilities are in a couple posts back.
Other things that may change are shops....as I have to add in Skill Scrolls to shops, and some weapons are getting axed for obvious reasons. This also includes treasures as well in various areas, as some things from those areas may contain Skill Scrolls instead, and some monsters MAY drop them as well.
No folks! I'm not taking a break! Been mainly working on storyline since last post. Yes...this dungeon IS that big....and I'm running out of ideas for what to put in here! Only have Lunatic path to do, and then the last remaining path, and that's it! Oh, and for those wondering if the multiple paths will return (Easy/Hard paths like in Misty Lake and Forest of Magic), those will appear again extensively in Makai in beta5. And in greater depth....as in, better rewards for taking the harder paths, and much more complicated and difficult. Consider the earlier versions tests of those. I think the LAST time a split path like that has been used....was way back in Bamboo Forest come to think of it....sad...
After this map is done, gonna work on character-specific equipment. If anyone wants to try and help with that, feel free to! It's hard enough coming up with original names as it is! >_<;;
Ok, so debug room is COMPLETELY finished now (I'm leaving some things for later). Right now in the process of rebalancing characters since well...they need it. Like for instance, a level 99 Reimu with no equipment on has 875 attack while a level 99 Aya with no equipment has 967 attack...I think those numbers are a bit TOO high if you ask me....considering a level 99 Momiji with no equipment has only 675 attack, and she's supposed to be the Warrior of the group...so I'm here to ask, what do YOU guys think is a good number for "Average" stats? Being for HP, MP, Attack, Defense, Magic, and Speed? I'm thinking possibly 500 for ATK/DEF/MAG while 400 for SPD, and probably 7000 for HP and 600 for MP. I'm not sure...which is why I'm asking for you guys' input! >_<Hmmm... You're looking for an average status? I will do my best as I can...
Well...let's try starting with stats for an all-around type character first. Then we can branch out from there more. Also trying to make this fit for a Level 1 character and then a Level 99 character, so would need two sets of stats; one for Level 1, and another for that same character at Level 99. If that makes any sense to you. Since obviously, magic attackers are going to have far less HP and Attack, but more MP and Magic. I think Speed as I have is perfectly fine for everyone, so can ignore Speed generally as that fits more with each character specifically (i.e. Aya is the fastest while Yuuka is the slowest since that's how they are in actuality).
Ok, so all characters have been rebalanced so far. Now....the next thing I'm working on is fixing up the inventory. There's a few new items here and there, and there's going to be a max of 5 exclusive armors for each character. This is where I need YOUR guy's help...I need names for these armor/helmet/accessories for each character. Names that are fitting for them as well. That would make this all the more easier for me...for example, this is what the original starting exclusive armors were for each character.
They each did various things, but here's the next thing...I'm ALSO going to have certain equipment (probably either weapons or accessories, or character exclusive armor) have command abilities on them that can only be used while they're equipped. For instance, to use Komachi's $Toss command, she'd need one of her exclusive-armor or a weapon that gives her the command to be able to use it. So yeah, there's that....hopefully ya'll can help on that! Oh, and as for the new items? Here's a look at them all!
Large P: Restores 1000 HP.
Lunar Incense: Restores all HP.
Rain Plant: Restores 25% Max MP.
Alarm Clock: Cures Sleep.
Denumber: Cures Paralyze.
Mini Hammer: Cures Amnesia.
Chrono Breaker: Cures Slow/Stop.
Faith: Cures all negative statuses except Death. Originally was Holy Water.
And various scrolls that cast level 1/2/3 elemental magic (Fire/Fira/Firaga for instance) EXCEPT for Poison/Holy. There's even one scroll for Protectga and Regenga. Oh, and Hakurei Scroll is now Fantasy Scroll, which uses Fantasy Orb Lv3. So there's your updates for now! Hopefully you can all come up with names for the exclusive-character stuff x_x
Oh hai there! Just got done fixing all of the big bugs in beta4, and with that, I can focus on more things now. Of course, some things will still need fixed, but that'll be for when I get to it. Also, for those interested, have a new tileset that was done for this game.
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi187.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fx308%2FXenomic%2FRPG%2520Maker%2520Stuff%2FChipsets%2FTheVoidTileset.png&hash=92a3c13ffc9354d4e8c87c53aae38e6a1327b846)
Hmm....I wonder what this could mean for TF...
You're teh man! XD
If you successfully finished this Touhou Fantasy, it would be a great hit! @_@
I haven't touched this game since release since I needed a break from working on it for 6 or so months straight. Let's see....since that was beta4 out of 7-8, it's about 50% done or so, yeah. Still need sprites for 4 characters right now (in-battle that is), and as for story, not going to spoil anything on that.
It'll be a long while before I pick this back up though, since I need new maps too which is the big turn-off point for me.
I haven't touched it at all.
Oi! Long time no see ya'll! No, no new updates for TF, EXCEPT I NOW have an overworld tileset for Makai, so I COULD start working on the game again...COULD, except I got a schedule I'm following. The order is going to be vid playthroughs for DKC2, DKC3, and then Earthbound to round things off, and THEN work on TF. So expect work to be in about a month or so!
In other news, still need more beta testers, to make sure all bugs are cleared out (for those that's already played through the game, I would highly suggest using the debug room for further testing, to find errors and such). I am ALSO looking for people who are interested in doing a LP or review for this game. I know that's asking quite a bit, but hey! Can't hurt to ask right?!
Hmmm....Time and Date system....could be useful in a way perhaps....could be....
What I'd like is to have a skill that's similar to Warp spells. Like I WANT Sakuya to be able to either warp out of the dungeon to the overworld, or to warp back to the previous floor or something. I just don't know HOW to make that work >_<
Also, in a way, the "overworlds" do parallel FFIV from what I noticed~
Now, I'm trying to come up with more dungeons, to fill out the roles of storyline purposes and whatnot, since I don't know if all of those will be used or not. The gimmicks that I have in mind for various dungeons are as follows:
No Items
No Physicals (includes Attack and physical skills. Attack is completely removed and all characters are under perma-Amnesia status)
No Magic (All characters are under perma-Silence status)
No Revival
(mainly for the addition of the 2 new characters).
As for the Barrier Key. You have to obtain all 4 of the keys themselves, even if it says you have 4 (for some reason, the game gives you an extra key, but the EVENTS are what triggers the variable increase for getting inside the library)No, I mean ... if you go up the stairs and go to the left, you get stuck, because it puts you in a wall, so you can't get the 4th key, since it's in that area.
Oh, that should be fixed in the update now though o.o;;the update is what caused it, though ... it wasn't like that till the SDM was updated.
addon to the idea:
Instead of chests, there are keys, and at the very end of the room there are chests, and if you open any of the chests, you can no longer reset the room. Otherwise, you can reset the room, but if you do so, you lose the keys you have collected.
No, Eientei was evil for a puzzle. The chests are just bonuses, not required.addon to the idea:

Hmmmm... Sounds evil for a puzzle...
For some reason this is going to remind me of Pokemon when you have to move the bolders...
Mausoleum is adjacent to the Myouren Temple. I already got the game last night, but note, I AM NOT adding anyone from Ten Desires into the game, simply because at this point, there'd be no place to put them and they wouldn't really fit in the story well at all. Only reason those from UFO got in is because the game was still in early development and there was enough time to develop a story behind them. These guys? I have nothing on them at all and all that jazz.
Hmm....here's an idea that popped into my head. For those of you that's played, you all know that in order to switch party members, you have to manually go and use the HRCS right? Well...what if I set it so that when you step on a save point in a dungeon, you can just choose the option from a menu of either saving or switching party members? Would make it simpler to get to and fro quickly. I don't know if I can do this on the Overworld map at all (or if I can set it to a specific key or something...), but thought it'd be something to throw out there.
As for that event, that might be used in a later dungeon probably...hmmmm
Something I don't get .... Tent=500, hotel (which is inconvenient) = 2000 .............
Game Suggestion:
About these books,
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi54.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fg90%2Fhazamukara%2F1-7.jpg&hash=5760e8cd29dcfb71085c208219e7ae17e8d0c4c5)
It would be better when you bought the scroll it should be gone at the menu.
example if I bought Atai Scroll Lv2, it should be gone at the buying menu, to prevent for duplicating things.
there's a possibility that you will forgot what you bought(and check back to the character what skills she already have or don't have) and duplicate things which leading to wasting of money.
Also, it would be good if you put information about the skills when you're buying.
I've been experiencing these problems ever since you implemented the scrolls XD

Others you'll probably NEVER use at all, like Sakuya, Nitori, or Aya.
And another update, cuz herp derp people breaking mah game:

Fixes damage on Flying Flower Kick from the boss fight with Meiling and the damage of Beak from the Eagle enemies. >_>. Also updated Inventory and Read Me files with more stuff.
***EDIT***
Redownload as I forgot to fix something T-T
This game has many characters. Though it was difficult trying to read the page.

Well that's Touhou for you XD
Currently looking for anyone who is willing to help me with coming up with formulas for the crafting system (mainly, what items are used to make stuff). Note, that this will contain spoilers, as I'll need to give a document that contains all of the items available! But I really need some input/help on what to do for this, since I'm sure I'm going to make things either too easy to get or too hard to get @_@
... it was fun, since my guys kept dying, but it was ok, since I had Mari, Patchy, and Meiling in my party ...Therefore I don't have Marisa ... since she's in my party ... Anyways, thanks, I'll check out the school once I get out of the snow forest ... it's good for making money, since there is a healing spring and a save point right there, but some enemies are extremely difficult to fight there, so I always save after every battle.
in other words, he has everything planned out, he just has no idea how he wants to map the areas yet. That's what he is trying to come up with, while at the same time, implementing things he has come up with already.
One thing worth noting is that Yuuka created Marisa's Master Spark, and has her own version of it - the Twin Spark. As the name suggests, she duplicates herself and fires two Master Sparks.
QuoteOne thing worth noting is that Yuuka created Marisa's Master Spark, and has her own version of it - the Twin Spark. As the name suggests, she duplicates herself and fires two Master Sparks.
WHY DOESN'T MY YUUKA HAVE THIS EPIC ATTACK?!!?!??!!?!?!
Hopefully there's no limit on the maps for 2k3...if there is, I'm going to be extremely angry...
Yesh, I let things slide for a long time don't I? Anyways, I have a new mapper now, so the maps should be coming along a lot nicer and faster than if I did them (I sure know my maps aren't that spectacular, but hey...SOMEONE had to do them before no?). I might start picking up here soon, after I finish some Final Fantasy XII for the first time ever (and maybe finish recording FFTA...maybe...).
So, I made a document for all of the possible characters that could have a field ability...there are 29 possible characters in all....I DON'T think I have that many ideas for field abilities for each and every single one of them, so a lot probably won't get a field ability, IF I actually get this implemented, which may or may not happen (not right now, but will probably happen after I finish the actual game. That should be main priority). Here's what I have per character thus far:Spoiler for:
Reason for the spoiler is well...some of the characters are spoilers for those who know of the Touhouverse and/or those who don't want to be spoiled on potential characters. Note that the ones that AREN'T used yet are Smash/Break, Climb, and Dig/Unearth from the previous page. If anyone can help on this, that'd be fantastic, since I'm out of ideas as to what would be nice for field abilities! @_@ Also, try to keep it as close to the character as possible. If you need to know what they can do and whatnot, feel free to ask and I'll try to explain the best I can ^^;;
Beta4 1.084 Patch: http://www.mediafire.com/?5vf6s925rt5wvi1Can't see the images for some reason...
Jeez, these just keep cranking out don't they? This is just a minor patch, in which I forgot to make it so that you can USE Fantasy Orb Lv2 due to me forgetting to fix it after trying to test something >_>;;
EDIT - To add a little teasing, here...HAVE SOME SCREENSHOTS! :DSpoiler for:
http://www5f.biglobe.ne.jp/~kanri01/rounk/dotto.htmlUnfortunately they're all gifs. I... don't really have anything that supports editing them...
Still working in the database. Story hasn't moved an inch since beta4 was released, so it's still at Pandaemonium.
Well, things that still need to be done:
1) In-battle sprites for Youki and Hope (still need in-battle sprites for Advent Cirno that's Soku-styled and not KoF style like I have right now).
2) Battle animations for the remaining 200 attacks.
3) Setting up and deciding the remaining secondary command abilities for characters who do not have it (i.e. Yuuka's Threaten, whether or not Yumemi will have Tinker, etc.).
4) Setting up and deciding overworld abilities (i.e. Sakuya's Overworld Running Speed bonus) for characters.
5) Fixing up synthesis shop so it's more useful and not completely useless at the moment. This may involve me making a crafting shop where you can buy up to level 3 crafting materials.
6) Fixing up maps and having them with better gimmicks and/or ideas (i.e. changing the remaining beta1 dungeons to better mapping and/or puzzles, which include SDM, Forest of Magic, Bamboo Forest, and Eientei).
7) Moving on with the blasted storyline!
8) Rebalancing enemies and making the Attack command more useful.
9) Ironing out any remaining bugs that remain in beta4.
10) Deciding whether or not to keep what music is in the game, or removing some music to make the download size much lower.
That's actually quite a lot now that I think about it @_@;
Ok, first one is done, the Fire Fairy. Let me know what you think.Spoiler for:
Ok, first one is done, the Fire Fairy. Let me know what you think.Spoiler for:
Huh... While searching around in Pixiv: I've seen something like this before... But there was various versions of Cirno, Fire, Lightning etc... But still... It's so far so good!
Edit: On second thought... The White Apron bit should be a bit dark red and the Hair should be Orange to truly represent a fire elementalYeah, I didn't mess with the Apron or Hair at all when modifying their sprites. I'll probably change them later, but I want to get the other stuff done first. If anyone has a nice reference to lightning wings (specifically a sprite image) that would be really nice to use.
Ice Fairy: Light Blue Hair, Icicle-like wings, Blue Dress, Cobalt Blue Apron
(It's like both Normal Blue and Light Blue at the same time)
Gravity Fairy: Black Hair, Blue Ring Wings, Purple Dress, Dark Blue Apron
Mystic Fairy: Probably the Some kind of inversion of the Gravity Fairy
White Hair, Yellow Star Wings, Silver Dress and Purple Apron.
Ice Fairy: Light Blue Hair, Icicle-like wings, Blue Dress, Cobalt Blue Apron
(It's like both Normal Blue and Light Blue at the same time)
mmm ... the issue with that is that there is also a water fairy, and the color schemes conflict heavily already. I'm
trying to have the Ice Fairy lighter than the water fairy. Maybe I could have a mixture of blue and white for the ice fairy (like with Cirno) and have blue (and dark blue, maybe) for the water fairy ...Gravity Fairy: Black Hair, Blue Ring Wings, Purple Dress, Dark Blue Apron
Mystic Fairy: Probably the Some kind of inversion of the Gravity Fairy
White Hair, Yellow Star Wings, Silver Dress and Purple Apron.
This helps A LOT since I had no clue how i would do either of these 2. Still not fully sure on how I want to do the wings for the earth, shadow, light, water, wind, and poison fairies.
I'm finishing up the lightning wings. I think they look pretty good.
@Tera611Espada about the Earth Fairy
Why am I now tempted to make it similar to Flandre's wings? xD
T6E: It doesn't have to be similiar it can just be like a tree branch.
@Tera611Espada about the Shadow/Light Fairy
Bat wings, huh ... ? I haven't done ANYTHING like that .... (Then again I really haven't done wings before either, so ...) also, I think Angel wings might be a bit out of my league, since I have to do each feather on it ...
T6E: Bat wings aren't too hard if you can think creatively on how it looks like sprited... angel isn't too hard compared to the bat wings all you've got to do is to draw white ovals and copy pasta to make your own unique feathers...
@Tera611Espada about the Wind/Poison Fairy
String wings? can you give an example of that? also, not sure how I would do the bubble wings, either ...
copy-pasta doesn't work so well when using the same thing over and over again to make 1 thing.
Anyways, the lightning/thunder fairy wings are done:Spoiler for:
Dinner will be done, so I might be able on the next one or not.
As always, leave comments on how I did and if I should redo it or make changes to it.
Edit:
Note: it looks SO MUCH better when it is larger (which it will be in the game)
mm ..... I don't quiet get what you expect it to look like ....
http://xenomic.freehostia.com/Text/TF%20To-Do%20List.txt
I put it in a document and on my site to avoid having a huge clutter of text here and elsewhere, so yeah. I'm not entirely sure if this is all I need to do (obviously not, since there's still things to settle on like Blue Magic, secondary commands for characters, balancing issues, etc.), but this is what I've got thus far. Expect some showcase videos for the game to showcase the playable character's abilities thus far. Though the question remains: Should I do them all at once, in a group (i.e. all Playables, all Optionals, and then all Temporaries?), or one-by-one (i.e. Reimu, then Marisa, then Cirno, etc.)?
Oh, and on a sidenote, Kyouko isn't playable. Sorry!Of course she isn't. You said earlier you weren't including any of the characters from TH13 in the game. Not sure if you changed your mind on that or not, but I haven't seen anywhere that you have.
I probably won't even utilize the Limit System except with Hope, who uses it similarly to FFVIII's Limit Break system.
Boss death animations huh...that could be interesting.
I have her for MUGEN (just can't open her in MUGEN for whatever reason). She won't be a playable character though so no need to worry about that (I do have a theme song for her though!).
She's meant to be an optional boss for Reimu specifically aye, but I haven't decided on HOW to implement her yet. I do think it'll involve Reimu's ultimate weapon/accessory though. I can't really change the default Critical% of character directly though, nor can I change how character's elemental/status resistances are directly except on the character themselves...
Fantasy Universe? Never heard of it...is it in one of the fangames that I've never played, or is that one of her moves in MUGEN?
I already thought of her being a heavy physical attacker, much like Kasen (except Kasen is more like Trema than Miko). Funny, since that makes them both more powerful variants of Sara who's also a heavy physical attacker...
Of course, Miko will have a couple other moves just in case (perhaps a healing move or something of the sort).
Those will probably be missing for quite a while due to nobody to sprite for them.
I'll be lucky if I get all of Hope's sprites by my concept artist actually...
people who complain about graphics aren't allowed to be called gamers.
"60 hours is too long for even hardcore gamers" is bull too. That's about the standard time for people who first plays a RPG! I mean c'mon!"
Agreed on this part too!: It took me around 58 hours to complete Final Fantasy 7 without defeating the Secret weapons and getting Omnislash to help me proceed even further. So it all depends on what you're doing to complete the game!
Other big ones, as mentioned in the video, is the music (understandable and TRYING to fix somehow...still not sure which songs to keep for vanilla and whatnot) and the mapping (though I think those that complained about that only played the beta1 maps and not the rest of the game methinks...not sure though. Nobody ever specifies some things...).
Just to let everyone know, my computer has died so I don't have access all the time like I used to. It may be quite a while before I come back...
I've been putting off downloading this game because of the different files and size - but I am getting more intrigued by seeing this progress. Also - I am big fan of RPG 2003. I love sideview battles! Plus, the tilesets are better than for RPG VX in many ways.
I may have to download a demo some time soon...
Are you familiar with the Touhou series?
That can make it a little hard to get into the game. I know some people who don't like the game because they don't understand whats going on. This is a game meant for people who know the series. If you want to learn more about it though, by all means go ahead, you might want some prior knowledge before playing though to really enjoy it.QuoteAre you familiar with the Touhou series?
Nope. Not at all.
http://www5f.biglobe.ne.jp/~kanri01/rounk/dotto.htmlNot only is the link dead it appears Biglobe has deleted the entire www5f thing. Is anything known about this? Do we know the name of the author?
Yay. We're all glad your back. We've missed you.Thanks, thanks, it's nice to see Xenomic is still at this. His will power and motivation exceed mine, though mine are both extremely low. xD
Oh hey, you're back. I honestly wondered what happened to you.I have insanely bad luck with my own computers. I'm currently on my grandpa's computer which is aweful, but somehow I am luckier on this than I am with my own machines. This thing can't use its own graphics driver, so I need a generic one. However, I have discovered that a generic driver is strong enough to run most 2D games, including RPG Maker games, so thought I would stop by and check on progress here. I might be able to actually help without this computer derping out on me again. :|
That's probably to do with 2k3 and its Action Cancel bug it likes to do. I don't know WHY it does that, nor how to prevent it. It's a pretty annoying thing to deal with. : SIt would probably be worth it to look into it online and see how other people have dealt with it.
Hmmm. I dunno, the layout is reminiscent of old NES games. They were traditionally spacious.
Well then, perhaps you can come up with a good idea of how to redo Eientei then?
Well, the Tewi Boo Ring is fine I think. That's probably the ONLY thing that's alright with the dungeon itself. Everything else? I'm not entirely sure...the 4 doors is meant to give some insight as to future events in a way (the Koakuma one in particular, with the upcoming Remilia fight, and then the Keine one hinting at Mokou. Suika and Forest Maze are kinda just there).
In other news, SDM front lobby FINALLY updated...my god...

A LOT spiffier than before. Just took an entire day to actually do since everyone at RPGMaker.net was yelling at me about it being too big and stuff. And then I finally split it into two maps, but now I'm not sure if that was a good idea. So, what do you guys think?
A) Merge the two floors together?
B) Keep them separate?
C) Use Instant Warp transition on stairs to switch between floors?
Since this is taken care of now, I can probably start fixing up the rest of the mansion. And guess what? There's going to be a lot of rooms now. Not really big rooms, mind you, but there's going to be more. Hopefully that's not an issue? ^^;
By Paralax??I never messed with paralax that much so...not sure on how to do that? Do I...do I save the first floor as an image and then darken it and then use it here or...?? I wouldn't know @_@;
*See's keyblade*
I'm going to have to play this game now.
To do the map. You may need HyperP2 Demo to make the map [which you may already have]

You see this room? This is the right room (there's a left room as well). The main switch to proceed in this dungeon in in the center. Main goal is to get all 3 colored switches down. However, you cannot enter this room normally so you have to go to the left room and do stuff there to get into this room (there's also a hidden passage in the south walls between the two rooms). The other room is similarly shaped as this one too

There are 3 switches: Yellow, Blue, and Red. The colored blocks you see in the first images are all raised or lowered depending on the switch pressed. What I need help is well...setting up the puzzle really! I'm terrible with making puzzles, and this is the ONLY puzzle in the entire dungeon. In fact, the dungeon itself is extremely short. So if anyone can help with these puzzles, that'd be fantastic. x_x;;
I know that many game companies do this often, and I can understand why, but just what exactly is best to cut out? Would it be wise to somehow relegate cut content to another part of the game? How do you determine how many dungeons your game has? How do you determine just how LONG each dungeon is?
