Title: facesets or portraits
Post by: anthro7 on September 04, 2010, 07:33:32 AM
Could someone point me in the right direction to learn how to put them in my game's text/message boxes? I feel like it ought to be something simple, but I can't seem to figure it out... Sorry. (And yeah, I read somewhere that there's an... advanced message thingy(?) that makes them bigger? That's lovely. But I have no idea how to get them there in the first place, let alone understand something that's "advanced". Is it really that difficult to add? Should I just be skipping it for right now?)

Oh, and I'm using RMXP, in case it matters.

Having RMXP does make a difference, since this is a default feature in RMVX. What you'll need is an advanced message script of some sort, which would enable you to put the faces in. I'd recommend googling for either "Ccoa's UMS" or "DubeAlex's AMS", and then adding one of the scripts to your script editor. It sounds complicated, but it's not that hard really.

Thank you so much!

No problem. Just follow the instructions in the script, and it should be pretty straight forward on how to use them. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
