Title: [Visual] Sso02V's art
Post by: Sso02V on March 06, 2006, 08:20:32 PM
I've been here for a while and I never even noticed all these forums down here! If I did, I wouldn't have to unload so many pictures on you people at once.

Those are pretty good. But on the one I think it's Zagard when you open up the page, I think you should make his hair more free-flowing.

Well those are all old pictures of the way he used to look, the oldest being 2 years old. I made his hair slightly less gravity defying, but retaining enough to remain unique.

Here's the updated version of him

There good...

Things I like:-

1. Most of its in proportion...

2. The colours you have chosen look Nice together

3. The clothing and detail you have added is great

Things I think you should work on:-

1. When shading try to avoid the Graidient tool...
(it makes the drawings look flat in some area's, like the hair)

2. When shading shade in the direction of the curves and body stucture
(Try to imagine a light above your person and where the shadows will fall)

Your 20 years old and your drawing is great, I can tell you drew these using the mouse and not hand drawn by pencoil and scanned in... to draw this good with a mouse takes talent and I am sure your better with pencil and paper... Investing in a scanner to scan in your pictures could be worth while...

I like em !!!

This is my fav thing I found on there...

Pretty cool.  As has been said, it's mostly in proportion.  Your mechs look friggin' cool, but your anime doesn't... look... like... anime.  I meant that in the nicest way possible, I'm just tryin' to say you can tell it's not porfessional...  Your mechs, however, as I said, are flawless.

I don't think the Mech's are by him... there in his friends list...

I think your drawings would look Anime like if you didn't colour them in... its the colouring you need to work on... your pictures look flat... I know that sounds harsh... I used have the same style as you when I was younger... Best thing to do is use reference material...

The one time that not telling the truth would make people think I'm cool and I gotta ruin it by saying that I do draw it in pen and pencil and scan it.

Ah... then I would say you need a fair bit of work then...

But the Charicter idea's are good, the design and imagination is there... and some times thats the hardest part...

Well right now I've got a crappy scanner and a buggy computer to work on it all, so I usually wind up rushing through a picture so I can finish it before the computer freaks out and restarts.

Again nice idea's... Very odd COlour style though... But I guess if they moved and was animated you could make a great Manga Piss-take cartoon !!!

Bah, who would want to make a manga comic?  If you're going to get into art, you in the very least want your art to be unique and original enough to avoid being categorized.  That's why I hardly post anything on my Deviantart account, 'cause there's all these obscure categories and subcategories... I realize they do that so the site won't get messy, but by the time I'm finished choosing categories I forgot what I was going to upload.  Since my art is so obscure and I don't like anime, most of my stuff is under "fantasy," even the anime-looking things, because I don't want anime fangirls e-mailing me about "omg do u liek naruto???!??!!?!?!!!!111"

y dont u try coloring them with the computer i know a good program called the gimp<<google it. instead of coloring them by hand maybe it would look nicer with computer coloring it may take u a bit of time to learn the program but its worth it.

You so do... there all Friken Gradiented... They look flat... None have perspective or movement...

The idea's ARE FANTASTIC... the dress and the hair styles Rock...

You just need to do more with them...

try Getting a Action figure placing it in the stance you want and them draw... like Charging towards you or Crouching... All your guys look like their waiting for a Bus or some thing... Its all too samey...

Good Idea's poorly done...

Here's some of mine... (All apart from the Blue Snake like dude have more life than yours... try and add action to them...)

I'll pass over the fact that those pictures were colored by hand, seperating it from any coloring method I've used on the pictures and get to the point at hand. Can you find the best (or worst) example of the gradient useage? I ask because It's been around a month since I've used the gradient tool religeously, since then I've been using the airbrush tool to to shading.

The only Picture of yours that I think is Brilliant is this one:-
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/30494053/

Here's the area's I THINK you used the Gradient tool...
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi13.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa260%2FStevenGiles%2FUntitled-1.jpg&hash=17fc55c275d3959bd751264a7a8779e8420c1497)

I could be wrong... but if you did this using the air brush then you really need some tutorials in using it better... What art package do you use ?

Here's one I done with Air Brush (I also drew this with mouse not by hand)
(Its a Bad example, as he is as life-less as yours...LOL same sort of stance...)

First off, sorry, I kinda jumped down your throat a bit, but I have to use the library computers to do anythign internet related, so it's always a hurried, hectic experience.

I use Micrografx Picture publisher, which is a bare bones, basic as hell kind of program. The reason all my airbrush work looks so much like a gradient tool is probably because it only has one basic brush.

Just so yoou know, the area on the picture you think is flames is just the rest of his hair. You can kind of tell by the muzzle flash of the gun that if I wanted it to look like fire, I would've done something like that.

Ss02v, those are nice... I wish I could do that good... and landofshadows...

See this: (https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv250%2FDeathTrooper%2FLegendary%2520Quest%2FCrusader.jpg&hash=58527d6a1abcc1d808047dec5b5a5c054265d1d2) It may look like it, but I NEVER use the gradient tool.

I don't see how, but a lot of people think I gradiented stuff like the cape and then cut out the gradient in the hopes it would look more anime like =/

ANd gradienting is an awesome way to color, it would just tkae 3 or 4 gradients for each item.
