Okay. I used my Sourceforge.net account to apply for a place for the game. Hopefully they will let me use it. It'll just take 1-2 days. Keep your pants on. I know it sucks. Their server is a lot faster, though... wait a second... I have access to it already! I have a regestered project already! It's dead, so I can use it for a download site! Hang on! I'll send you all a link in a few!

Okay! It's uploading to sourceforge.net! I just need to wait a while. It's a bigger file than before. I'm not sure what to do about making it small enough for the average person to download. That could be a problem. Then again, all of the Sound Effects are in there. I can get rid of the ones I don't need in the end. As for the BGM, those are the bulk of the file. They need to be compressed greatly. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

What file format are you using for the music?

Can I get a wOoP WoOp?!  8) Ha ha! I did it again! I figured out the problem! The file size was way to big because of all the music files I put in! They were all way too large, and they took too much space! So, I compressed them, with NO audible loss of quality! I just gotta compress the SFX, and take out the ones I don't need, and that file will be much smaller! It won't be much longer! Just wait for the audio files to compress, and I'll post again!

BTW, I'm using MP3. Some of the files were HUGE .wav files, hence the problem  ::)  :P

You could always shorten the bitrate on the mp3s too. You lose a little bit of quality, but they become much smaller.

Heh. That's actually what I did. Strangely, the quality did not drop much at all! But the file size did! Went from a 285 size when uncompressed to 75.2. BIG difference. I'll upload the new one once it's done RARing.

Hey I heard this somewhere and wanted to know if you guy knew, I went to google and got this.

Quote
Fans of the U.S. version of Super Mario Brothers 2 will be quick to tell you that it's the oddest Mario title to ever appear on the NES. With plants that you pull from the ground, characters with special powers, and a setting straight from Arabian Nights, Mario 2 simply doesn't fit with the games that came before and after. There's a reason for this: The Mario Brothers 2 title released in the U.S. was not really a Mario title at all. It's actually a game released in Japan as Doki Doki Panic.
Japan's Super Mario Bros. 2

Quote
Before Doki Doki Panic was even released, there already was a Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan. Using the same "engine" as Super Mario Bros., featuring different levels, SMB2(J) was basically a harder version of SMB. Perhaps, too hard...? Deemed too challenging for American players, SMB2(J) was never released in America. Later on, however, SMB2(J) was included in Super Mario All-Stars as "Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels" and in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe as "Super Mario Bros. for Super Players." But even before America got to play SMB2(J), SMB2(USA) was released in Japan as "Super Mario USA." Confused yet?

So subcon is not a super mario world.

Still I think it will be a good game and hope you have a fun time making it.

Lol! Actually, I DID know that! I read an article about it in Nintendo Power's 100th issue! But, it's really a matter of opinion whether Subcon is a Super Mario world. I can see both sides of the issue, though. It could not be because of what you said, but it could be because hasn't the game been rereleased several times since then? Meh. I guess it could be viewed either way, but I still see it as a part of Mario's history, and therefore, it's a world of his. So, it's fair game.

Thanks for not attacking me with that info, BTW, especially cause I already knew it!  ;D

I think that you game looks good and it doesn't really matter to me either. I just was wondering how many people knew this already.

And I think it is weird that japan think we suck at video games...

They do?! Maybe we suck at their video games, but they suck at ours! Let's see them play a game like Diablo or City of Heroes or any other game developed here in the USA! They'd be confused as heck! "Where's the ninja vampires and giant katanas?!"  ;D

jk. But seriously, let's see them play Half-life or Counter Strike. Not a chance of surviving. Especially in a World War II game! OOOOOH BURN! History channel watchers know what I'm talking about. Again, JUST KIDDING! DON'T take this too seriously! The last thing I want to do is hurt someone's feelings! I'm only joking around!  :-\

Heh, actually, I was testing the version I uploaded, and I found some more sound links that were off. They cause the game to shut down. Let me update it, and I'll resend it to everyone. If you didn't get it, make sure my e-mails aren't getting sent to the Spam or Trash folder. Put me on your allow list or something. Depends upon your e-mail client. Wait a minute. I'll upload it again later today. I'm at my mom's house, and she has DSL. I've been with my dad, who is stuck with Dial Up. DSL is not available in his condo   :'( . I'll finish testing the whole thing and upload it again to make sure that there are no fatal errors. Sorry about this!  ;D

I played all the way through the game and one thing that you should fix is the titlesets... they suck...  they all look they same... and why is there tree inside a buildings? It would look better with some super mario rpg titlsets and some other like from paper mario...

Other then that it was good. Only a few weird grammer and the battle system was good. the game was fun to play and made me want to finish it

Mkay! This time, REALLY I didn't screw up! The link is right, the file is there, the music is linked, all you need is a program called WinRAR to decompress the file. If you don't already have it, you can download it at http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar361.exe.

New link:
lTHIS IS WHERE THE LINK WOULD BE... On the real E-mail it was there...

Enjoy!
