Earthbound 2 - OST

This topic contains all of the completed tracks for the EB2 soundtrack. The game is a thing that may or may not happen, and if it does, will happen quite slowly. There are lots of pieces to this complicated puzzle, you see. I'm not gonna make promises or kill myself over it. We're in for a slow, smooth ride, cats and kittens.

The music however, is being updated regularly.

So chill. Enjoy the tuneage.

Do it.

Haha, you recreated the booooo weeeep BOOP weernWOOOOP sound. NICE reference to the original final boss music.
Oh man, these are all pretty great. Nice re-imagining of classic tune-age.
Haha, Cake.
Love that Shop Somewhere Else track. Is that a reference? It sounds ... familiar, but I've played the hell out of EB, and ... I dunno. Wait. I kind of hear it, now. That bass line and drums. Is it just the melody that's new?

Dude, this is pretty sweet stuff. Other people should be commenting on it. It's an excellent clash of what made the original soundtrack so great with a new kind of spin to it; your own sound.

I especially like how you're actually using the soundfonts from the original cartridge. Dat horn.

Thanks Ryan, I was really hoping to see a post from you here. : ) Shop Somewhere else is just a middle-eastern twist on the original "Buy Somethin' Will Ya?" theme from Earthbound (which is actually based on The Beatles' "When I'm Sixty-Four", allegedly).

The idea is that sometimes when you enter a drugstore, the regular guys are on their day off. So instead, a completely different man is there. Instead of selling things, he just shows you what's in stock, which is different from usual and made up of things that are traditionally much harder to come by. You can choose just one item, and then you have to haggle for it. If you win, you get the item. Either way, you get booted out immediately afterward because he's sick of your pasty face. Even if you turn right back around and enter again, you'll see the regular guys at the counter instead (unless you're extremely lucky).

Other songs listeners might pick up on:

Primus - My Name is Mud
311 - Amber
The Doors - Love Me Two Times
The Eagles - Hotel California

Just finished a track today that I'll post in the morning, nothing super special, just a short theme for a little dialogue.

Again, thanks Ryan. : )

I've only listened to a couple so far, but I think they're awesome Arrow. I never played Earthbound and I have no idea how to constructively comment on music, but I figure I could at least say I really like them.

Man that's always awesome to hear from people! I wonder if people don't post because they think that's all they have to say? Because, if that's the case, please, I really appreciate encouragement!

Working primarily on music, writing ideas down when I have them. Modern Algebra is doing scripts at a pace that is convenient for him, among other things demanding his attention.

The answer is yes. Casually. If you want to do stuff for this thing with me, then by all means go ahead. I'm just working on this because it makes me happy, and when it gets done, it gets done, and hopefully it's great.

Thank you so much,  and I'm sorry this response is so delayed!

I recently was able to dredge my old hard drives for project files and finished pieces. With any luck I should have new music to put up soon!

I'm bumping this thread again to say that I heard Going The Distance for the first time on the radio today and it was like listening to a cover of Piece of Cake.
