Up until May 2010, RMRK had a long-running tradition of recognizing a Project of the Month. While there were a number of reasons for retiring that system, it was never for a lack of excellent projects; RMRK has been around since RM2k3 and has a long history of being home to some of the most distingushed and talented amateur game designers in the RM World. It is once again time to shine a light on the talent of these individuals by recognizing, celebrating, and encouraging these game makers, while at the same time giving beginners example projects to which they can aspire. For these reasons, I present the new Project of the Season award! For more details on the award and how candidates are chosen, please see the main topic.

Without further ado, the candidates for Project of the Season: Winter 2011 are:

:rmvx:Legionwood, by: Dark Gaia

Legionwood is a complete console style RPG reminiscent of the classics of the early 90's such as Breath Of Fire and Crono Trigger. It features a massive world filled with adventures and side quests, and contains over 15 hours of gameplay.

:rmxp:Nora's Dragon Stories, by: Japur

A creative RPG where the protagonist must enter the stories written by a dying author in order to cure her of her disease. Features some of the best mapping of any RM project.

:rmvx:Order of the Marten, by: joy

A low-fantasy RPG where the player follows the newest member of a covert squad investigating a dangerous conspiracy which could threaten the very fabric of the country. Through a creative use of photoshop and custom resources, this game is incredibly gorgeous.

:rmxp:Vacant Sky, by: Sailerius

Featuring an epic storyline, wonderful custom resources and many hours of gameplay, Vacant Sky is an excellent project which showcases some of the finest aspects of RM games.

        Vengeance Online, by: Wyatt

Created using PHP and javascript, Vengeance is an online text-based RPG with a number of custom resources.

And the winner is joy, for her work on The Order of the Marten (as if she needed another award :P)

Everyone congratulate her and her team (Holk, grafikal, and EvilM00s) on this wonderful achievement!

The results were very close and so be sure to congratulate all of the other nominees on their amazing projects as well.
