HORIZON OF THE ETERNAL

Seeing as this is our first project, and we have a strict deadline. We are asking for quite a few helpers. The more people we have the quicker this will go and the better the game will be.

Positions needed to be filled:

Sprite Developers

We are planning on using custom sprites for the entire game. Also needed are face pictures of the characters (preferrably anime style). We are planning on implementing a side view battle system, where the character will run across the side of the screen and attack, sprites will also be needed with that. Me and my friend are artistically inept so we will need someone else to do these for us.

**I will post what we need in characters as i get the information.**

Midi Developers

What we need is a variety of music scores, along with cutscene scores, battle music, boss battle music and the like. Scores should be reminiscent of Suikoden or Lunar music scores (more likely Suikoden, since Lunar scores tend to midi, whereas Suikoden tend to orchestra).

Types needed : Towns (normal instances) : Depending on the type of town, peppy, military, woodsy, dark, you get the drift.

Dungeons: Eer, suspense, long lengthy string scores.

Castles: Again, depending on the type of castle. Familiar castle: normal militant fanfare, strings accompaniment. Foe castle: Evil castle score, clued in with the suspence factor.

Woods : Familiar : Flighty, pipes, flutes.
Evil, foe territory: Almost with dungeons, except a note of caution instead of a note of impending death.

Temple: CHOIR. Easiest way to go, with organ. Revering.

Desert: Pipes, flutes, but almost empty sound.

Ice Forest: Quiet, serene sound of flutes.

Drama: "Pull on heart strings" score, flutes/strings (heavy strings). Etc.

Battle Music:

Most battles will be generic battle music, something punchy, aggressive, that will NOT get annoying!

Boss Battles:

Variations, but mainly "surprise" then aggressive, more aggressive than standard boss battle.

With the plot line will come different needs.

Scripters

Seeing as me and my friend are programmers, scripters are not in great need, but anyone that has any experience is welcome to help us.

We have a basic storyline/plot in the works here is a little of the opening monologue.

Within the temples there is taught of the time before Creation, where the Gods began to mold our planet in their infinite wisdom and love. It is written that the Gods willed themselves into being and, because of their incalculable power and knowledge, gathered the chaotic energy from the emptiness that surrounded them and created matter. They then molded this matter into what we know as our Solar System. This doctrined truth is passed down, generation by generation, throughout the ages of man for as long as has been recorded.

Few know the truth.

At the dawn of creation appeared the Object, a being of vast and awesome power, which came in contact with the collective consciousness we now know as the Gods. With this contact came such a concussive force that it ignited the dormant energies of the cosmos which then imploded in on themselves, causing matter to form. We do not know how long this implosion lasted nor how long it took for matter to coalesce and form our individual planets, but what we do know is that for a long period of time space became a torrent of chaotic energy and matter, which the Object used to disappear seemingly from existence. For ages, the few that knew the truth believed that it had simply vanished seeing as its task had been completed. They were wrong.

During the reign of Glaicus the Third, known as the Tyrant King, a phenomenon occurred in which the Gods touched the head priests of their individual orders and revealed the truth. This mysterious event was catalogued as the Coming of Rage, solely for the fact that for the next five hundred years, war raged on land and across the heavens as faith broke ground with the revelations of their deities. Religious wars were fought over each truth given by each respective God, yet never revealed to the temples or the populace. What almost all of the head of the orders did not know was that the truth was fragmented because of the individual facets each God represented.

The complete truth was only revealed to the head of our order, by our most holy Father God. We of the order of Isaal, God of Knowledge and Balance, know fully what the rest do not.

The object did not disappear.

The object is here, on Traligia. It was fleeing.

Final Memoires of Sebathien,
First Priest of the Order of Isaal and the Hand of Light on Traligia

Written on the third day of Harvest, circa XXXVI, seventh year of the reign of Belthalius the Kind.

The story begins with a heaving political situation on the continent of Inevilde, in which the governing body has in the last 10 years began making radical changes to policies that were imposed by the founding fathers of the Empire. Within the recent year, the Empire has gotten bolder and more dangerous, believing insurgents to be plotting against the Empire's ways, and so has been sending out its army to raze the countryside, burning villages and destroying lives as if cutting grain.

Our story focuses on an adopted boy from one of the villages that gets hit by the Empire, and his budding hate turns to thoughts of revenge after his village is destroyed. (the boy's not really a boy, more around the [NORMAL RPG] age - 17-18). The boy, a blacksmith trained in the ways of the sword to protect the village, had been taken by his foster father and stuffed in a shed when the Empire attacked, thus disabling him from being able to defend his town, or so he thinks.
