I Have seen the two you have put unp, a guy with white hair and an alteration of the main sprit... they pretty good, but no better than mine...  :P

I just tested them in RMXP so I can report accurately on what I find wrong with these character sheets.
   
   Lets start with the first one, the dark knight on foot.  You are correct that he animates fine, but my complaints for this one are about the looks.  On the front view, his hands and some other parts of his armor are redish for no reason.  On the side views this also happens, though only in part of the hand/arm.  For the back view, the cape isn't aligned right. Its too far to the left and looks rather akward.

   Next, the mounted dark knight; again the red armor problem appears... I don't know what program you used or how you attached the cape but I imagine it is related to the process you used.  The lighting of the helmet shifts akwardly in the front view, but otherwise, compaired to the other views, animates relativly well.  For the side views... When he is going left the way he leans forward and moves around while he rides doesn't really look right. And this time the helment distorts strangely, getting smaller and larger.  In the right view he looks a little more natural aside from the way he moves his legs. It makes it look like he is trying to walk while riding the horse.  The helmet distortion shows up in this animation as well.  The back view is argueably the worst.  It at least stands out the most.  The cape is still unaligned, which isn't surprising as I imagine you just used your on foot sprite.  He jerks around back and forth while you move, and it looks just terrible.

   And lastly, the catgirl sprite.  For starters, the hair coloring is just ugly.  You should try to add more contrast, and perhaps pick a diluted yellow that looks more natural.  When transitioning from side to front or back, it hardly seems like you are looking at the same character due inconsistancy with the things on her head (Ears I guess).  The animation is weird from all sides except her right.  She seems to wobble back and forth a tiny bit from the front and from the back, and again her head seems to shift a bit, probably because how you created them.  The head should be consistant between frames, or else it comes out akward.  When she is walking left there is a little twitch in her step, though after the front and back animations you hardly notice it.

   Please don't take this as a personal attack, I just don't think anyone wants to use buggy sprites.  I am not saying my sprites are perfect. In fact, they are far from it.  I noticed a few things I plan on going back and fixing after I posted them.  I just thought that I should point out the errors in your sprites, many of which you probably noticed yourself, so that you may go back and fix them, or take them into account and make better sprites in the future.

   The battlers on the other hand, I think are pretty cool, though battlers are certainly not my area of expertise.

(And sorry to correct you, but that isn't really an alteration of the main sprite (Arshes), however this is not the topic to discuss that in.)

Nice... one... I did not notice the errors with the Girl... But the Man on the horse I kepted getting clipping of his helmet appearing on the other frames... For some reason you get a slightly larger area to work with when walking right than you do walking left.... The Movement of the Rider when walking Up I wanted him to bob about... Its kinda hard not to get jolted about on a horse... same with the legs, I wanted it to look like he was Spurring the hourse... But I don't like the Left Animation (I may be able to fix that...)

The red tints, are odd... Not sure how I picked them up, I did save the PNG's as Interlaced, may be that done it.... I will revise them today at some point... The Cape I think looks OK... Not bothered if its slightly off, I bet no Knight gets dressed in front of a Mirror...LOL

The cat Girl needs a little work transition wise from frame to frame... Again when going left... Odd... And she does look almost diffrent in every frame... But I did pretty much create her from scratch, used Fighter 07 as a Temp...
I may make the hair a different tone...

To avoid the clipping problem you could just make the whole thing bigger, allowing more area for the sprites, however then you'd have to deal with lining them all up properly again, which can be a real pain in the behind.

I like your new guy, although he is a little unstable when he walks. I also have some minor complaints about the coloring, but he looks fine in game so its really no big deal.

I went ahead and realigned him for you so that he walks smoother.

You should try to pace yourself when making character sheets, to make sure you get it right. You should also keep testing them as you go, to make sure the movement animations look right.

As for the other ones... I don't really see any significant change. Are you sure you re-uploaded them?

I don't think it differs on each version... Heres what I do: I always have a blank project called "Testing" where I test out scripts and stuff. I just make the main character use the sprite I want to test, and walk around. You'll usually notice any errors.

I just deleted my cookies. That did the trick.

I think the catgirl looks MUCH better, and you fixxed the side view jerkyness, however I still see a couple problems. Firstly, shes still a little wobbley in the front and back views. The head is consistant in the front view now, but theres a little weird shifting in the side views. Also it is inconsistant in the last frame of the back view, probably because you just flipped the whole head when you should have just flipped the pony tail thing. In the left side animation, because you probably just took the whole right side and flipped it to make the left side, she has her with her legs open in the first frame (which should be the last frame) instead of her just standing, which looks rather akward in game. (You also did this in your most recent character.) And lastly... Well, I don't really know why this happens... But, at least for me, in game it cuts off the bottom of her feet for the back view. This occurance is rather odd because her feet are there in the actual image. If it isn't just me with this problem, I'm not sure how you should go about fixing it. In most char sets the character is a couple (ussually 2) pixels above the bottom. Yours is all the way at the bottom. Perhaps changing that would fix it? I'm not really sure.

I'm glad to see you fixxed the red stuff on the dark knight. I'm not sure I like the new cape coloring however. I think it looked better before. The cape is still unaligned... its too far to the left on the back view.

I still see the same image for the dark knight on the horse. Did you change that one too?

Its a Small Crab, made it for the Seaside walk area... I don't much like the Big Scorpion Graphic...

I found the probelm, When I Export, and take into Photoshop, it auto crops to the edges of the image... I have to respace them !!

Here's a Sort of look into how I made them... (Its not hard, you just need to look a the ingame sprites and see how you could manipulate them to serve your needs)... GilgameshRO (I think I have you to thank for How good Sasuke looks, with your tips I am getting pretty good at this... Thanks for being Hawk eyed and spot on with every comment)


The Crab, was a Complete Rebuild Pretty much, its a Cross between the Squirrel graphic and the Scorpion... then shurnk +  bit of a Tidy up etc...

(You can kinda See how I made this one... from the above examples...)

The battlers I didn't create I found them on the NET some I have tweaked... Apart from the Darknight Battler...  I made that one... The Horse was Windows Clipart, until I got hold of it !!! LOL...

Its the first time I have made 2D spirts this small... Its a bit harder... you have to try and cramp so much detail in such a small space...

There getting better with each new one I make... And to be fair, if you look around other sites, mine are more original and in keeping with the game, that could be where I am going wrong, may be I should make them stand out more...

If you post some negative points please can you elaborate on whats wrong... if I can't see whats wrong, I wont learn...

The cape unalighnment actually does mess it up.  And I wear a cape (yes literally) and make it even without looking in a mirror.

I might Remake the older ones again from scratch now I am getting used to making them.... I want to make a few horse mounted sprites... So if you want you can have four members on horse back... Then I might make two more generic ones that could be any CHAR male or female rider, in armour... Horse ridding armour... But thats gunna be once I have done The Twisted range and my Amphibian Monsters...

And Yep go right ahead... Use them as much as you like... Give credit to me if you have time...

Some Cat people I am working on for my game (there are two tribes fighting on the Main Land... the Cat people are the Jesspok tribe)

This is Jesspanthro, I made the Car from Shop keeper 1 and the battler I got from Google and added a Tabard


These are none playable Cat people - Lady Cat - Girl Cat and Fighter Cat...


All of the people in the town are Female accept Jesspanthro... (These people all speak Jesspok, so to understand them you have to learn their language...)

I have also made a Cannon for their Army... the way I did this was I took a Photo of a lego Cannon... It doesn't look great, so if any one has another cannon Char set please let me have a link to it...  ;D


This game is coming along pretty well now... and it plays good... the creatures are at the right level to give a challange throughout playing...  and the Events work very nicely...

I just use rocks from pretty much any tile set... Just change the Events picture from the rock monster to an image of a rock or pile of rocks from a tile set, relate it to a switch so when the rock monster is dead the switch turns on to a new page with the instances set to lock facing and with the rock image...

The two in the top Left are your Falling stages, Top left frame one Top left 2nd in from left frame 2.

The two in the Top right are you frames for the rocks coming to life, Top Right frame one, Top right 2nd in Frame two...

I made the Gallows using the Mine Town Exterior, and the Wagon Sprite set.... It only took me about an hour or so, if you have been looking you may have notice the image update about four times as I done each row of animation.

Made another Exercutioner


I have nticed there are no DECENT fish sprites so I made one.


And I have Made a Spirit Orb - Just a paint splodge with a Layer stlye added... I love photoshop !! (Played with the brightness on some of them, to give it a pulse)

lovely - I see some things in the tilesets that I can use straight away!  The straw roofs don't look quite right on the buildings - something about the beams on the side of the buildings partially covered by the timber bordering the roof - they're not the same angles.

Attached is something a little Bit Special... I hope you all enjoy it.

(I created this by finding many Gothic Graphics and Tile sets from many different RPG making tools... I have then resized and shaped them to fit RPG Maker XP, so parts are custom-made, but almost all of it is ripped, altered in size, colour or filter to suite the RPG graphical style).

Here is an image of the Above tile set in use:-



You can use it to create massive Castles, Gothic Train stations... and in the Above case a Freemason Lodge of sorts...

I have created another Tile Set, that can be used in conjunction with the Above (See Attached).

And here is that tile set being used as a Train Station come church:-



There are hardly any Gothic Sets around on the NET... So I hope these are a put to good use.

Most of the Rips came from this Artist:- Zatosai @ http://charas-project.net/resources.php for RPG Maker 2000... (They are tiny... I had to put a fair amount of work in to bring them to XP).

The Latest Tile Sets I have made look much better in game... You can add Clouds, Fogs and Tints to make them feel Very Gothic...

They also go great with the Touture Sprites I have made !!

I would love to see the Maps you guys create with these Sets... Please Show them off here.

I am not the Best Map maker... I know some real works off Art could emerge from these tile sets.

Looks great, but a darker grass or even dead grass would be more suitable. Just my opinion.

Hi DeathLock,

Cheers for the heads up... I often build my maps and then add atmostpher to create the illusion and feel of the surroundings.

There is some dead grass with the Tile set, just a couple squares in the LOS-DarkCastle.png.

Our Use the Swamp Auto Tiles that come with RPG Maker Xp...

Or you can use the Autotiles I have made:-



These are from My Slums Tile Set:-



(Attached) - (The Shadows on this tile set need some work... But other than that it's a fun tile set to use).

And in my Game I have Events that Tint the Screen a Greeny Blue Colour... And a Fog Effect, like the below, but it needs more work:-

The medieval slums, cool. I see what you mean with the shadows, the 100 opacity ruins it. I personally like shadows that have transparency to make them look a bit realistic.

Hi All,

Made a Mad Tree Monster !!

You can either have him grow legs and Arms, or have it fart out little Acron Men...

I will be making the little Acron Men as seperate sprites and making battlers for both the tree and Acorn men !!...

And I will be making the Tree walking around !!... Stay tuned !!

Yes it does. Are you sure you applied it to the right event and not the player.

I even just tested it, though I was positive beforehand. Assuming we're talking about the same thing, it absolutely works.

The only reason I could think of for you that it wouldn't work is that instead of checking the stop animation box, you had turned it on through a custom move event. Just to be sure you're doing it right, I attached a screenshot and circled the way it should be properly done. If you do that, then a move event will definitely turn it off.

Well, for those ones, where it takes the whole sheet, all you really want to do is check the Direction Fix box use a move event to do the rest. The move event should look like this:

Change Graphic: Next Frame
Wait: 4 frames
Change graphic: Next frame
Wait: 4 frames
etc...

until finished with the whole sheet.

umh...why when I tick them both my event moves and when I only tick the move anim.(so no stop anim.) it just stands still and is not moving?

I think one of them moves the event around the map, and the other animates the event regardless of if it's moving around or not. If you check them both, that just means that the event will be animating and walking around the map depending on the default walking path you've given it (if any). I could be wrong, I haven't used XP in forever though.

So if you have Move Anim. ON and you didn't give the event a walking path it'll just stand there and not do anything. You'll only see it animate when it takes a step to the next tile during it's path (which you didn't give it).
