This looks awesome! I would help, but I'm not good at sticking to a given project. If you ever need an emergency spriter though (everyone else is busy, sick, w.e.) then I'm your man!

Currently we need tileset makers badly. Also we'll need spriters, but the tileset makers are priority now, so some actual maps can be done.

The topic truely does look good.
A model of how to make a good project topic.
Well done Blizzard.

By spriting, I mean any kind of a graphic.

Tilesets also?!

@Zeriab: Thanks. :) Maybe it should be stickied as both: A good template and a community game. :) *can't report his own post* :( *too lazy to PM a mod* >_>

^_^

This is truly the kind of project that's deserving of a community effort, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Eh... are all those people still actually mappers, or have you just been too lazy to change that? Heh.  ^-^

Come on peoples, this is a very worthy project to be a part of.

The problem is that we STILL don't know who actually is in and who is out. If by the end of the week nobody else of the former team comes back, I'll remove them from the credits for good.

I think there will be no VA. I didn't want it from the beginning (I still remember FFX, ew...), but some were suggesting it and so I said "Let's try it and if it's crap, we'll leave it." It wasn't crap, but nobody was continuing on, so...
As I remember you're still registered at my place. Just log in, I'll move you to the team. Your 2 weeks trial starts.... now.

We need capable team members and everybody who wants to join the team needs to show what he can do. Only words will not suffice, show us some of your work. After that he has 2 weeks to prove himself useful to the team. If the new team member doesn't contribute anything to the team within 2 weeks he is not anymore a member of the team.

Nuff said

The three countries of this planet - Scarlethon, Kundrua and Wallah – were once at piece with each other, until the year 1674 when Scarlethon and Wallah clashed.

I think you mean Peace

Anyway, nuff for the spelling.

I would like to apply as a Character Artist if your still looking for someone. Below are examples of my style of art (don't mind the first one how in the background there is a book, I was stupid when I scanned it in). I do NOT do CG or lineart (I can try linearting with black ball point or felt tip if you want me to), only drawings (I could colour, but I'm not the best colourer round here).

Examples:

I would think that you sending me a list of things to draw with a rough skeatch of the basic outline of the character would be the best way for me to work, but I'm kinda busy cause school juust started and I'm busy thinking of idea's for my own game to.

EDIT: The last two was for english so just ignore the powers and stuff.

I would love to help, but my skills limit me really.  I could help with the storyline, though, if u need any help there, or perhaps storylining a few side/less important quests or putting some creative things in there that would help the story flow better.  it's hard to prove myself creatively, but you can check out my site that has a few things I've written if you want to use that sorta as a stepping stone to see my creativity.  Please let me know.

@Winged:
he - the new team member, I think it's right that way. (A team member can be a she of course. ::))
And yeah, it should be peace, not piece...

Problem is, your drawing style isn't fitting with the one we will use.

@dark:
We already have enough people suggesting and working on the storyline. When I update the topic soon I will include that.

I cant judge a game by opinion, just by success. If you reached what you aimed for, then you have succeeded. Otherwise, no two different games can be better (In my opinion)

What kind of tilesets are needed? I can attempt them. Don't expect anything wondrous though lol. It's been a while since I've done any sort of spriting, so ... yeah.
Title: Re: Chaos Project - The Three Moons™
Post by: Blizzard on October 24, 2006, 07:28:43 AM
That would be cool if you could. We need a futuristic-preapocalyptic city, a sewer and a small-village tileset for now.
Title: Re: Chaos Project - The Three Moons™
Post by: Tsunokiette on October 25, 2006, 02:30:10 AM
Okay, I'll work on the sewer one first. (easiest lol)

I've done 5 tiles to see if it's the style you want. One is a cracked ceramic tile, one is a hole one, one is tile that's been broken so badly you can see the motar that was under it. One is a window-like tile (transparent - view water bellow). And the weird one is just a stain.

It's not much but it's to see if it's what you were going for.

It's only the first step right now lol, simple shading, finishing touches go on when it's done.

Yeah, it looks fine. Just put some shading later on and it will be good. :)

The code is quite simple as it is nearly linear. I used moving/zooming images for that. ;) Here is the uncompile project:

Hey...
I gotta join...

I can arrange music,

We don't need a music arranger, but we could use an extra composer. I can't do it all myself. OK, I could, but I don't have the time anymore. Can you write your own music?

The code is quite simple as it is nearly linear. I used moving/zooming images for that. ;) Here is the uncompile project:

The rest, just like Naphe said here (http://rmrk.net/index.php?topic=4482.msg107956;topicseen#new).

This is for continouse clips not movie lol...

So if you need a proper .avi movie you need another script...

AS FAR AS BLIZZY BOY told me..

Blizzard, could you update the list of people involved in the first post? I'm sure people like dwarra, who don't use RM anymore aren't involved.

You say it's 100% commercial. Does this mean it will cost money to buy and play? If so, will there be a free demo available?

Hm, looks ok. As soon as we actually get some original tilesets, you can join the team. Since you have 2 weeks to actually accomplish something and you have to tilesets to map with, it's a litte bit pointless to let you join now, since you have no material to work with.

@Zypher: The demo will be free when it's out, sure.

Thanks, whenever you need me for a map, just message me and give a short outline how you would like it and i will send you a rough-draft of it and if you approve it i will then make it.

hey guys since im back, i want you to know that i am currently learning to use my new audio composer, Reason. i do know how to make music using proggies like Sony ACID, but its too "rockish" and it comes out as mp3. I need to know more music theory, and the works. if you need more help in audio, i can be your man. hey im pretty good with storylines too. sorry i can't help out on the graphic aspects of the game as i have immersed myself too deeply into the world of 3D Game Studio and its 3DSMax8 made props.

Haha, after... how many months?... I'm starting to get offers for the help with music. Finally. ::)

Well, I just talked to Merancapeman, actually, and he seems very eager to join the music staff (which was, until just recently, me LOL). And I, as well as Blizzard, already know what he's capable of.

What you need to do is send us (Blizzard AND me), and then if you'll fit in, you're more than welcome to join in on the music, and after that, I'll fill you in on what's been done, and the way we're doing things, etc.

As far as story, that's not my department, so I won't comment.

Just realise, almost nothing is getting done right now, so music may not be needed for some while.

I suppose I could do music too, but right now I'm tied to Anesis. At least I think so. I haven't heard from anyone there for weeks. Plus I'm not good at writing on demand. But maybe I can do a song or two.

Alright...

The game has been canceled. I have done a terrible mistake by thinking under-aged kids would take it serious and take it to the end, but I was wrong. Even when I said it will be commercial and they could earn some money, the situation didn't change. I can't do everything by myself. Note that I mention here the kids and it is their fault, since there were a few mature members in the team who were actually doing something. I am glad these people were taking this actually seriously and put some effort into it and I apologize for taking these people's time for a project that was actually determined to fail from the beginning on. >_>

All in all: The game was canceled, because of many of the members were not doing anything, they lost interest and they were undetermined.
At least I have learned something out of it: NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH CHILDREN! =P

What you need to do is take the long-standing and mature members from here and make some kind of super-team out of them. I'd be willing to do THAT.

Don't give up on a good game, just fire everyone :P
Also, make people show you a game they've made, if they can show a game, then they can usually stick with a project :P

But seriously, just find the people who make good games, and PM them asking if they want to join, it usually works :)

If you change your mind, and stick with the game, I'd be happy to help with mapping.

That's a good idea: To ask them if they have already finished a game. :)

@Zypher: There already is something like this going on... If a team is going arise of the ashes of this game, a different game will be made with a different plot. The IF is the important factor here. =/

I didn't mean a finished game, just showing a game that took a while to make.

Ah, I see. It's a good idea anyway. If somebody has made half a game, he will most probably finish it, right?

As long as it shows a lot of work was put in, it should be enough I guess.

I'd say as long as the storyline is interesting, the eventing was good, and it was at least over an hour of gameplay, it should be enough to prove the person was serious about making a game.
