The do-it-yourself RPG maker series is getting its latest entry with RPG Maker MV, a preview for this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine confirms.
While details are still light for the time being, the scan shows that RPG Maker MV will be supported by multiple devices. It will also have side-view battles, mouse and touch screen controls, a larger database, and three-layered map.
RPG Maker MV is in development for PC and Mac.
uhhhhhhhhhh are they keeping the same rtp graphics? ._.
Can't wait to pirate this. The only thing I ever pirated is...

. . . . . .
EDIT: Screw my eyes in the ass. I was just starting to understand ruby.
EDIT2: "No more hidden classes!" Oh... :o
I like this though.
RPG Maker switching to JavaScript and HTML5 from Rubygods have mercy
Those are different things?
Oh. Stupid names confusing me. >:|
Maaaaaaaan, I'm really stoked to be able to "uncheck" menu options, too! :gracie: I always had to fiddle around with those in the past when I wanted to make a game with custom menus. I wonder if the overall layout of the menu will be different, too? They've pretty much kept that the same forever. The two are unrelated and I'd be very surprised if a Java class involved any JavaScript. But once you learn your first programming language, learning another language is quite elementary in comparison. Those are different things?
Oh. Stupid names confusing me. >:|
I don't get how Java and Javascript are different, either. o_o Aren't they similar? Like, knowing one can help you learn the other? I guess I'll find out, since I'll soon be taking Java programming classes at college. Three semesters of that will surely dabble in JavaScript. @_@ Maybe yuyu will finally be a scripter! :<
Ohhh, I see. The link Aco provided says that JavaScript is a little easier than Java?
I'm actually supposed to take an entry level C++ class, and then I plan on taking two courses in Java.
Database, Scripts?, Sound Test, ??? (Resources?); Playtest.
Also, the RTP will be integrated into the engine (whatever that means)I would assume this means you won't have to download the run-time package independently, as we've had to in the past, and it will just install itself along with the program. I'm sure the RTP will still be available on its own though, so people without the engine can still play games that require the RTP resources (read: all of them).
Don't worry Modern, I won't tease you too much as you make a mess of things again.
Anyway, the plugin manager interface looks great. I love the parameter setting interface here. http://www.rpgmaker-mv.com/plugin-manager-javascript/
Still curious as to how the new layering system works. I wonder if anyone's got any info...From what I read in the MV thread at RPGMakerWeb (Official distributor of RPG Maker),
Sounds like some variation of the Stockholm Syndrome, though I do actually try to get you addicted with some actual benefits hiding here and there.Don't worry Modern, I won't tease you too much as you make a mess of things again.
Haha, but I need you to tease me. How else am I supposed to learn?
Preorders and an in-browser sample game now available (http://preorder.rpgmakerweb.com/rpg-maker-mv/)
Oh, it comes out on the 23rd btw.
Sorry I'm kinda late to the party, but yeah rmrk is pretty close to being abandoned. ;9
