Egan was the ancient captain of the royal army. He had been ordered to retire after failing in his last battle against the demon Lazeth. Injured and dishonored, Egan felt grim for decades in a small village away from the king's court. Meanwhile, free from his biggest opponent, Lazeth had traveled trough the world, looking for the Orbs. This elder artefacts made by the Primordial Gods are known to enclose the world's consciousness in order to maintain balance between the nature force. According to the letter Egan just received from the king, Lazeth is on a way to replace the Gods. Because he is the only one wich survived a battle against the demon, he has to fight back and might found a way to redemption through this mission. But this time, failing is not an option.
Battle system : Turn by turn.
-- Weapon levels : The more you fight with them, the more powerful your weapons are.
-- Cosmetic : Armors and weapons are visible in battle, on the map and in the menu.
Botanical system : Collect plants from the world and create potions.
Orbs System : Two choices when you "save" an orb : First, keep it with you to enhance your power, OR bring it back to his place to pacify the planet. If you didn't success to protect an orb, it's Lazeth who will become more powerful !
Mounts : Find the mounts to move faster !
The death : Except against the boss, you can't die. You are brought back to the last civilized zone you have visited.
Exploration : Always rewarded ! Be curious and you will find a lot of secrets and bonus.
Books : They are scattered through the world. They are useful for the background of the univers.
Secrets : I mean "all that stuff which isn't that important but can clearly ease you life". Donjons, boss, riddle, etc. Because at the end of each, you have something very great to obtain.
Skills : Not gained by taking levels but by exploring and accomplishing quests.

So, here is some news !
First, some screens. I've modified some very ancient maps and I've added approximatively thirty maps for the demo (coming soon in FR).
And so, I wrote some facts about the universe. Here are some translation (by me so, sorry for the mistakes. If you see any, please tell me :) ).
The time :
If I give indications of years, it is for us, to give us an estimation with compared with a notion that we know. But in this world, the time doesn't exist, so to speak. It was never calculated and so, life goes on in the same old way without ever measuring even in hours, days, weeks, months, years... This has for effect, that the natives approach the notion of Death in a different way than us. In this world, nobody dies from "old age" or then very rarely. Peoples dies because it's their hour (and because it's the fate, people die mainly because of the wars, accidents, of attacks of creatures or disease).
There are 5 armors/weapons class : S, A, B, C, D.
It's only since approximately 180-200 years, thanks to a partnership between the alchemists and populations of the North (who specialized in the extraction of minerals, like the peoples of the extreme West) that new armors made their appearance. They are quite very different some of the others. Some are similar to exoskeletons in the sense where they increase in a characteristic way the physical abilities of the carrier. Other, more terribles for the population, merge with their carrier and bases with the bones and muscles. These last carriers remain rare and are often extreme cases. Those armors are mainly for persons who dedicated their life to the war.

And here is the battle system (by Zeus81). When I captured the video, the battler of Egan wasn't really finished (but now, it is). The voice isn't definitive. I've hired actors for his voice and the voices of other main characters (like Lazeth, Allen, etc). And... The background is just for the test, I have to draw another, in the same style of the battlers. [/pre]

[justify]I straightened the movements so that they are more "adequate". Worth knowing that now, your character doesn't walk very fast, but he can run ! For that, you just have to press "shift".
Furthermore, if you free the mount of Egan, you can use it to travel. The speed of the mount (when it walks) is faster than Egan walking. Also, by pressing "Shift", your mount can gallop and reach some zones which are inaccessible under normal circumstances, or simply to use some shortcuts !

[justify]So, I'm spending more time on my mapping (which is a good thing). So, I prefer to warn you that the first maps of the game are a bit less pretty (which is not a good thing). But I didn't want to spend all of my time by made again and again the maps of the beginning. I want to finish all the parts that are needed for the demo. The following maps are WIP. The first one is soon finish.
Most of them have already seen them but... I prefer put all the news in one topic, which is more efficient I think. I have remade two designs for the needs of the game. The first one is Allen because is character design was openly yucky and the other one because I needed a reference for the animation of a young Lazeth. So here they are. I'm working on the charset of each one (the one of Lazeth is in not here because I have such problems with his mask !)
I think I'm in love with that rolling fog/dust/cloud effect. It's very well done.

I try to work hard to improve my mapping skills. When all my maps will be done, I will begin the events. I think that I have approximately eight ten maps to create for the french version of the demo. Then, I would stop the developpement of the game the time needed for translating it in English as soon as possible. :)

So it was a long time since the last post. I was pretty busy with school and comics so here are some news I can share.
First, some animatics I made for the intro of the game. The final animation is into realization (i have modified some things from the animatics before) :
The other animation that will be played in the game will be made differently, it will be animated paintings.

And Egan has a new design, because the ancient one was pretty ugly. (I have to draw the weapon in his left hand)
I have the (french) voice for Egan (we already have record his lines). I'm searching for the Lazeth's voice. :)
The battle system is still the same, but I have added an improvement for the weapons: they will have a level and activate or disactivate skills. Also, the more you use a skill, the more powerful it will be.
