Up until May 2010, RMRK had a long-running tradition of recognizing a Project of the Month (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,15623.0.html). While there were a number of reasons for retiring that system, it was never for a lack of excellent projects; RMRK has been around since RM2k3 and has a long history of being home to some of the most distingushed and talented amateur game designers in the RM World. It is once again time to shine a light on the talent of these individuals by recognizing, celebrating, and encouraging these game makers, while at the same time giving beginners example projects to which they can aspire. For these reasons, I present the new Project of the Season award! For more details on the award and how candidates are chosen, please see the main topic (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,40140.0.html).

Without further ado, the candidates for Project of the Season: Spring 2011 are:

        Colorful (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,41206.0.html), by: NAMKCOR (http://rmrk.net/index.php?action=profile;u=3489)

Colorful is a delightful platformer which follows a person who is bipolar and his struggle to keep happy.

:rmvx:Oversoul (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,41654.0.html), by: Omiekins (http://rmrk.net/index.php?action=profile;u=16107)

Oversoul is still a very new game but already features a compelling plot and gorgeous artwork.

:rmvx:Perchance to Dream (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,40006.0.html), by: bunny (http://rmrk.net/index.php?action=profile;u=3583)

Perchance to Dream is a highly imaginative world set in a world whose inhabitants have lost the ability to dream. Featuring an intriguing plot and inspiring visuals, it promises to be wonderful.

:rmxp:Vacant Sky (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,23712.0.html), by: Sailerius (http://rmrk.net/index.php?action=profile;u=5288)

Featuring an epic storyline, wonderful custom resources and many hours of gameplay, Vacant Sky is an excellent project and showcases the power of RMXP.

I can only vote for one, Vacant Sky, because that's the only one I've played (am playing through it still, in fact), although I do like the concept behind Colorful. Whoever does win, everyone else will be a winner too!

Oh boy, close is an understatement. x_x I honestly expected your project, Colorful, to win because it's so unique.
All the candidates were awesome, though, everyone's a winner! /ham

Lots of thank-you's to everyone for voting, definitely motivates me to continue work on the project.

It went back and forth a lot, but we were within 2 votes of each other for most of it.

Last-minute voting had a lot to do with it. It was 14 - 14 for about 3 days. Congrats to both of you~
