A question I often find myself asking, some people have really awesome usernames and I've been wondering how they came up with that.



I came up with diamondandplatinum3 in 2009, I was signing up for youtube for some reason I don't remember. This same day, Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum had arrived in my mailbox (I bought them off ebay).

So being unmotivated and uncreative at that moment and having these three games sitting next to my keyboard, I just wrote down diamondandpearlandplatinum which altogether makes 3, so I put a three on the end of it.

The username was too long for youtube, so I removed the andpearl part, forgetting to change the 3 to a two.

I've stuck with this username since then.

There was a big transformation I went through before settling on Pacman.

AngryPacman -> HappyPacman -> HungryPacman -> Welfare-Daddy Pacman (Arrow <3) -> Pacman

I came up with AngryPacman in like 2008 for an email address, lol. Don't quite know where it came from.

Rief basically means Leaf
If you write Leaf in japanese(not the japanese word for leaf), you get riifu
To make it look better i wrote it how you would in german, that would be Rief

I soloed a group of players after they killed my team on gears of war by sneaking around and using my chainsaw on my stepdad's xbox live account before I ever bought a 360 so when I bought one, I made my account named Lethrface because Leatherface was taken already.

I originally had fort170 as my general account name, then I went to a catholic school with the motto Fortes in Fide (strong in faith) and I was like, forte....hmmm

Thus IAMFORTE, which was pretty presumptuous, but I liked it for some reason, so it stuck

Stereotypical was my original, thousands of name changes later, I became Queen Gracie/Gracie.

I made up mine when I was very little. Probably 10 or so. When creating an account on Neopets (lol) I went with "yuyu" because I used to be into anime and liked "yuyuhakusho". The "babe" was not-intended, I originally wanted it to be "yuyugirl", but that was taken. So, I thought of "babe" and it wasn't taken.

Since I'm no longer into that show, looking back, its a really silly, fangirl name. But, I stuck with it because I used it so much.

The main question for me is why I chose to use "yuyubabe" on RMRK, instead of "Deannomite". I've been using "Deannomite" more recently in most places, except RMRK; being a mixture of my name (Deanna) and dyn-o-mite. Lol

I could have sworn this topic already existed.

Halo Of The Sun was the name of the first song I ever wrote. And I'm uncreative so I just used it here. The end.

I got my name from a planet in Master of Orion II.

Mine was my 6th grade nickname.

Well, about ten years ago (really rough estimate), my screen name for AIM was TheFallOfEden. I was relatively obsessed with the entire idea of Eden and humanity's "fall from grace" at the time. One of my friends IRL couldn't remember my AIM name and said, "it's something like 'fallen from Eden,' right?" I thought that name was better, so... I started using it instead!

Then I got my current e-mail address, which starts with fall.from.eden (just to keep it to four letters between periods... OCD for the win). I just signed up with Fall From Eden here to keep it consistent with my e-mail address.

I wanted something that started with the first letter of my name. Acolyte was the first "A" word that popped into my head that sounded decent.

Mine was a character that was initially used in a novel that I started, that later became the name I used for almost every major male character I played in many a forum Role Plays - I did often have a female counterpart whose name is almost always used too for a lot of things I work on.

It then became synonymous with myself that I started to use it for a forum identity too, and I use it as both my on-line pseudonym and my pen name for things that I write/work on.

Prior to that I used to use Apeiron or Penance for not much of a reason at all. It was pretty randomly chosen.

Mine just so happens to be a mix of a couple of nicknames.

Tater Tot [tattertot] = my middle school nickname. It was a polite way of my friends saying "pizza-face", but the rhythm to it sort of stuck, so I accept it as another way of saying my real name.

Rev = Most of my family has nicknames in several sources where they say something like Rev or something along those lines before a shortened version of the real name. Mine contradicts that, epicly.

NO, no, I got that part 100%. What I'm asking [and I mean no offense here] is why was he named that?

Back when I was an extremely unoriginal kid of like 6-7, I created a werewolf character named Bayard Zylos based on the names of two of my favorite Sega Genesis characters (Bayard from Warsong and Zylo from Shining Force). Despite the poor origins of the name, he was always one of my favorite characters to use in stories and my own playtime as a kid and whatnot. So when I got around to forming my own fursona identity for myself many years later, I decided to just stick with that name and keep it for myself instead.
