Ok, so my external harddrive made a dcm file for every file I backed up, and they're useless. I need to delete all several thousand of them.

When I start deleting some of the dcm files the search results turn up, it starts moving them to the recycle bin. It goes fast at first, but then it starts decreasing. The delete speed goes from a couple megabytes a second, to a couple kilobytes a second. Seriously, my slowest speed yet is 2.32 kilobytes per second. What the hell?

Why does the speed to move files keep decreasing over time? It does the same thing when I click the "Empty" button too. How do I make it speed up again?

Also, when I click "Empty the Recycle Bin", it takes forever to get to the part where it starts deleting things, if I have more than a couple hundred files.

Recycle Bins are for losers. Shift + Del is for winners.
