Midi madness [RESOLVED]
« on: December 01, 2009, 05:02:07 PM »

  • Hey, guys. I'm new here...okay, relatively. I've been on here awhile without an account. Moving on, for some odd reason, I haven't been able to activate, much less hear, the already-included midi files. I don't like it. It bothers me. Can I please have some help? Please?

  • Oh, hey, that's great. Now I have another problem. THE STUPID EVENTS AREN'T WORKING. *headdesk*

EDIT: And by 'not working', I mean nothing's even happening when I press the action key. Grr.

  • Are you able to hear MIDI files when you play them outside of RPG Maker, just in windows? =o

  • I think I remember this problem, in your volume control settings, the player for midi files must be set to Microsoft GS Synthesis something, it'll play midi files in 2k3 :)

  • Really? Huh. Thanks. I'll have to try that. As soon as I figure out how. <_<

EDIT: Yeah, it's set to that already. Huh. Weird. Still not playing. Now how do I get these stupid events to work?

  • I actually have been having the same problem, but I found a fix that may work for you. I got it off the forum at Trap17.com. Anyways, here ya go:

Just go into your Control Panel and double click the "Sound and Audio Devices"... Then under the Audio tab, under Sound Playback, click "Volume..." button. Once the screen pops up, just increase your "SW Synth" volume tab. Simple as that. You should be able to hear music in RPG Maker 2003 now.

    Hope it helps!
