Desomiom is a puzzle RPG game that I started making for Game in a Week 5. The demo scored second
place in the contest, and I hope it scores a place in your heart.

(This game may not work well on computers made in the 80s)

Gameplay
The game is centered around puzzles, something I wish more RPG Maker games had. Most of my inspiration
comes from The Legend of Zelda games. The puzzles are more or less similar to the ones featured in those
games. I also have a little inspiration from Paper Mario, believe it or not.

Currently. no battle system has been implemented. I haven't planned on adding one, since it isn't really that
necessary for this game. One may come in the future, but I doubt it.

Storyline
Don't bother reading this if you're going to download the game anyway. You'll be told the exact same thing.

A large war (cliche) is taking place between the kingdoms Kellington and Burrill. Although both sides are
fighting with all their resources and might, Kellington is suffering from substantial losses, as Burrill dominates
their territories. In most cases, it would be wise for Kellington to forfeit, but there is hope. To have any
chance of surviving, Kellington must move away from mere swords and siege engines. A new large-scale
weapon must be developed. Something that will change war forever.

Here are some in-game screenshots.

Easter Egg Hunt
There's a notable easter egg in the game which is a tribute to another series of games. If you find this
easter egg and PM it to me, you will win ten meelion theoretical Indian rupees and your own important
character. First come first serve. The egg you're looking for may be wet.

It's the same thing you judged, except I fixed some bugs. ._.

Wait, whoops. I thought you were someone else. These names changes are annoying.

haha, I tricked you! Tongue

Anyway, I just finished - it was very well done Irock. You definitely deserved a high placement for that. One thing, with the green and yellow chests, when you put the object in the yellow chest it opens and turns into a green chest.

Also, there is a frame delay with the spikes in the jumping puzzle. If the spikes of the tile you are on come up just before you jump, then it lets you jump but then sends you back from the next tile where the spikes are actually down. It's not a real problem, but I thought you might want to know.

Huh, I didn't notice the chest changing colors. I guess I must be color blind.

Yeah, I noticed that spike issue as well. It's not a huge problem, so I haven't bothered to fix it yet. I wanted to finally just get the game out.

Thanks for bringing these bugs to my attention, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game so far.

I'm curious as to what will happen with the last scene there. Will there be battles integrated into the game, or will it be a puzzle-based battle?

I'm considering puzzle-based battles. There are a few ideas flowing through my head, but I'm not sure how well I can translate them into events. Then again, I didn't even know how to create projectiles until I actually tried (3/4 of the way into the contest)

I'd tell you what I had in mind, but that would ruin the surprise, plus I can't really promise anything until I actually create it in the game.

Without a doubt, there will be some form of action in future parts of the game.

Congrats Irock! Desomiom won Project of the Month for November. I'm not home right now, but I'll get the banner and create the featured project page later on. For now, just congrats!

It really makes me happy to see that so many people enjoyed the Desomiom demo. The work I put into it has paid off, in my eyes.

Winning project of the month has encouraged me to continue working on this. I'm a little busy with a few other things right now, but I'll try to get back to work soon.

This is like an early birthday present. :3

Thanks to everyone who voted for, supported, enjoyed, and nominated this game.
