Whell At the moment i'm getting all of the solo tours done on guitar hero, my sisters went ahead and did the bulk of the band mode toghether while i was asleep, which made me just a little sad so now i'm going to ditch them for solo tour Well, we actually beat band mode toghether but still, i missed a big chunk of it .-. I was in the middle of Paper mario a little bit ago, i should probably pick that up soon >.> I've been playing a couple of games on the DS. I'm in the middle of Ring of Fates at the moment, however my brother decided that he wanted to play chrono trigger so now the location of ROF is unknown I have been dabbling in the Chrono Trigger, seems solid and rather deserving of all of those titles people give it, i haven't done any serious playing of it yet (I'm only in that screwed up church in the moment ._o) I'm working my through the extra missions on TWEWY, but i don't really have the time for that lately considering all of the above though ._o Oh yes and Fable II too. Yeah, i do play most of these sparsely with one being dominant over all (Right now i've been playing more guitar hero than anything else, likely to change once i separate my brother from ROF ) and i do have a lot of free time, so that's how i manage all of this If you're curious as to why ROF is probably never going to be within my grasp ( ) again, please read this: ALRIGHT SO THIS ONE DAY I'M PLAYING ROF AND I'M HAVING A RATHER SPLENDID TIME AND THEN I DECIDE MAYBE IT'S TIME TO SLEEP. THE NEXT DAY MY BROTHER COMES OUT OF HIS ROOM, PLAYING THE DS AND WHEN I ASK HIM WHERE ROF IS, HE SAYS HE NEVER TOUCHED IT (physically impossible, considering both of my sisters have not touched the DS, and he had the opportunity to grab it whilst watching Trailer Park Boys at like three in the morning, and if he's on the DS he'd either have to take it out of the port or be playing it at that very moment) OR IF I ASK HIM IF HE'S SEEN IT IN HIS ROOM, HE DENIES IT. I CANNOT THINK OF ANY ULTERIOR MOTIVE HE MIGHT HAVE FOR HIDING IT FROM ME(Especially since he has Chrono Trigger, and he wouldn't really have a reason to conspire behind my back just to play some game, especially since he'd usually just ask) SO MOST LIKELY HE'S JUST TOO LAZY TO TAKE IT OFF THE TABLE OR DESK OR FLOOR OR WHATEVER IN ORDER TO GIVE IT TO ME anyways it sort of sucks ._.

This is for Wii, right? Is it any good? I haven't gotten very far yet - I just got it and so I am only an hour in. It seems interesting, though. The first part is really annoying because your character talks to someone, and then a minute later it gos into a flashback of the conversation you had one minute ago, and it does that repeatedly for the first like, half hour. I will report back once I get a little more of the game done. @Forty - sure, but not anytime soon, I have to start doing some school.

I stopped playing tf2 and gmod until the apartment picks up FiOs here soon. Until then, I'm plaing threw Disgaea 1. While my roommate plays through 2, when he's done, I'll play through 2 while he goes through 3, while my other roommate plays through 1. Then I'll play 3, the other will play 2, and my one roommate would probably just go back to playing Fallout 3.

Yeah, it's pretty good. The save system is atrocious, though. I don't mind check points, but when they're an hour of game play apart...*sigh* CoD4 Single Player Fallout 3 And hoping to play the Riddick game, but it has some OpenGL error. Mount and Blade Crysis Oblivion
Is crysis good? A lot of people say it's really pretty, but really bland.

Crysis is great. People only say it's bland because they're trying to sound like "refined video game connosouirs". The graphics are pretty, yes, but most people don't understand why Crysis is so requirements heavy.
The truth is, Crytek wanted to make the game future-proof, so they decided to make the highest settings nearly impossible to use on this gen's hardware. Truthfully, nobody is supposed to play it on very high, or even high, really. They knew this when they made it. They only included mind-blowing graphics in the game so that in 5 years, when you have new hardware, Crysis isn't just another old game that you have fond memories of playing. You can actually load it up and it looks completely better than you remember it, and it holds up to other games of the next gen.

Currently, I'm going back and replaying Xenogears.
Such a good decision, man. Now, I know a lot of hardcore Xenogears fans disdain the Xenosagas, but I love them just as much. Those games blew my mind. Though I don't think my mind was ever quite able to cope with the strangeness of some of the elements. Every so often I wake up in the middle of the night and think. . . "0_0 . . . Jesus was in that game. . . and one of the main characters was an angel that guarded his tomb. . . and another one was Mary Magdalene. . . .wtf?" I seriously love them though. Not the most action packed. And it felt mostly like a movie. But the Jungian and gnostic themes kept it beyond fresh in my book.

EDIT: I wanna play the Fable for PC... ;-;
Yeah, it's pretty good. The save system is atrocious, though. I don't mind check points, but when they're an hour of game play apart...*sigh* Give me. D: Ocarina of time, of course Majora's Mask is better No it's not. Both of them are awesome. I say OoT. I remember when I was really young, I got to the adult Link stage but never beat the Forest Temple because I was too scared of the wall crawlers.

Sounds reasonable, TBH, I'm not looking for anything "new and fresh" atm, I want something that reminds me of Quake 2. Stuff like that. A solid story would be niec too. Never played Majora's Mask, but OoT is fo shizzle a lot of fun. The floor masters scared the hell out of me,too. Playing: Audiosurf, UT2K4, UT3 Demo (blows ), TF2 and HL2 Episode 2.

My DSFire card broke because of a horrible sink mishap, so I only have 3 DS games to play now. Luckily, they're all pretty good.
Ecclesia is pretty fun. I'm a huge fan of Castletroid games, and this one is a bit of an expansion on the theme. It's more like Castlevania 2, in that you're traveling to a bunch of smaller zones. At first it seems really easy, (except the bosses, which are excruciating,) but things ramp up pretty well once you get to the main castle. I'm really obsessive about collecting in these games, and collecting is less of a chore here because it seems that they increased your odds of finding rare treasure drops and glyphs. I don't mind the glyph system, but it seems like I'm sticking with two sets of glyphs for most of the game. I'm almost done with it, so I might post something about the whole thing afterward.
I'm also playing the Final Fantasy 4 remake, which is pretty much exactly what I expected. There is one thing that was kind of annoying to me, and I don't remember if this was in the SNES or GBA versions, since it's been so long since I've played either. When Cecil becomes a paladin on Mt. Ordeals, the game drops his level all the way back down to 1. This means that all the time you spend grinding him before this is just wasted. It's a small thing, but it was a little discouraging. Oh, and the voice work is surprisingly good for a Square game.
Lastly, I'm finally getting around to play Phantom Hourglass, which is blowing me away. Of course Nintendo is going to find the best way to use their own hardware, but the controls are so intuitive that I didn't realize until about halfway through the game that I wasn't using any of the face buttons, save bringing up my map every so often. I love this game so much that I almost don't want to beat it.

Bouncing between a couple of games, but since my PS2 and Wii are at home (all I could bring was my DS because neither my roomie or I were bringing a TV), mostly they're DS/GBA games.
Playing through FFV Advance, only my second time through, oddly enough. I missed this when I was playing through the series originally- my knowledge of Final Fantasy went FF3, FF4, FF6... etc. So it's nice to play through it. I enjoy the job system, especially the fact that Mimes/Freelancers get all of the abilities and stats of mastered jobs, and in the end I ended up grinding through my jobs quite quickly. The last room of the Void before Exdeath? Seriously, 26-30 AP a kill is nice, and then when you kill the movers and see 199 AP for a win? Beautiful. Seriously, though, getting the jobs maxed is worth it- I managed to slaughter Omega with a team at level 40. Spellblade Thundaga + Rapid Fire ftw.
Another game I found myself coming back to was FFTA2 (yes, I'm on a Final Fantasy kick of late). Honestly, the downside to both TA and TA2 (I haven't played the original yet) is that once you've beaten the game, the few missions and stuff they throw in afterwards really kinda pales to everything you did up to that point. It's like saying "Congratulations, you beat the game, now GTFO." It makes me just a little sad inside. But overall, it's a nice game, and one that still brought me back just 'cause I have the completionist need to finish every mission.

I'm with you on this one. The engine alone is incredible, and it will be the game's biggest legacy. Particle clouds, weather systems, bit-by-bit destructible buildings, light that filters through bullet holes in foliage, trees that aren't invincible(>_<).

Nothing will ever live up to anything that's already good. But I think it's very solid, and very well-done. However, it's still a Resident Evil game, so of course the story and characters are lame and boring, and stereotypical, and etc. But yeah. Looks great. Plays rather awesomely. Co-op is a blast.

Commence large post ~
Crysis: I'd only ever heard about its graphics before, heard it described as a benchmark rather than a game. The first hour or so didn't really interest me much, but once you get into it I'd say it's pretty interesting. It's definitely better than Far Cry imo.
Crysis: Warhead: Short, but it's branded as a standalone expansion so I'll let it slide. It seems less polished than the original Crysis, especially in the cutscenes. Half the voice acting sounds like they only bothered doing one take for it, and their attempt at a history subplot sank. The ice stuff was cool though, and again the graphics are just awesome.
Fallout 3: Awesome ;o; I agree with all the good reviews. I played through it as a nice person the first time. The great thing about f3 is its replay falue, I'm playing through again now as an asshole instead =o My only gripe is that it keeps crashing.
F.E.A.R. 2: Was pretty fun, I won't be playing it again too. Considering it uses the same engine as the original, it looks great, and especially SOUNDs great. After a while though it suffered the same as the original, it just gets tedious =( and the scares quickly lose their effect when the game basically tells you it's about to try and scare you.

After a while though it suffered the same as the original, it just gets tedious =( and the scares quickly lose their effect when the game basically tells you it's about to try and scare you. Its good enough for one play, true. And I couldn't agree more about the how they're about to tell you that there's a scary scene coming ahead. It lost its quality comparing it to the first one. :\

Commence large post ~
Crysis: I'd only ever heard about its graphics before, heard it described as a benchmark rather than a game. The first hour or so didn't really interest me much, but once you get into it I'd say it's pretty interesting. It's definitely better than Far Cry imo.
Fallout 3: Awesome ;o; I agree with all the good reviews. I played through it as a nice person the first time. The great thing about f3 is its replay falue, I'm playing through again now as an asshole instead =o My only gripe is that it keeps crashing.

Cool, thinking of trying it out. I actually thought Farcry wasn't very good. =x Played it for a couple hours then never touched it again. It's a blast. I tried out the demo and thought it was kinda fun, but I wouldn't buy. Didn't scare me much, except for once towards the end of the demo where you see the living tree then it all goes red and you get choked. Anyway, I is playing a lot of Sauerbraten and started playing Savage 2 and am about to play more Half Life.

Super Bomberman 2 - It's kinda addticing =\ But I think I'll get bored of it soon Donkey Kong Country 2 - Hurr Secret Of Mana - I'm not much of a great fan of rpg games (lol) ON the snes, thats why I always hesitate before trying FF..even though I know they're good, I just feel that I'll ruin the whole thing but SOM has cool music pretty much the reason
and tf2 ofc.

Bomberman is not a game, it's an addiction. I own two different versions on the wii, it's so much fun. Oblivion: Just reinstalled it, it's so much fun, but I wish it didn't crash so much....have to go through and test which mods work. Obmm is good for that, though.

Ys I + II Eternal.
These games have such a simple concept, but the way that everything is done is done so well. I actually completed the first one, found out that the remakes of parts III and VI had english patches, so I went and got both of them. Now I'm in the middle of part II, and there are tons of improvements over the first. If anyone knows of anymore Nihon Falcom games with English patches, please let me know. My interest is piqued. (Caro, I'm looking at you...)

Just beat the 2nd Ys last night, and started on The Ark Of Napishtim. Impressions so far:
-The world is lovely to look at. Using sprites on a 3d background is nothing new, but the sprites are so well made that you can hardly tell that they aren't models. -The combat is great. I liked ramming into enemies in the first two, and I was a little wary that sword-swinging would make the battles more generic. It hasn't. -It maintains the soul of the originals in many ways: -You go from dealing 1 damage to an enemy to being able to kill it in 2 hits within 2 or 3 levels. -The strange items that you find and know nothing about until they become relevant are still there, which was one thing that made the originals so much fun for me. -The character interactions are surprisingly enjoyable for just being a jpeg and scrolling text. Even most generic NPC's have something interesting to say. -The boss battles are incredible. They're never just hack-fests, and they're all fully rendered with glorious 3d models. -There are multiple carrots dangled in front of you at all times. You might say, "I'm just going to get one more level," but then you realize that you only need 25 more gems to upgrade your sword, so you continue fighting. Once you have enough, you go to town and get ready to move on, but then you notice that the next armor is only 200 more gold than what you have, so you go back to fighting. You buy a sweet shield, and then see that you're close to another level, so it's back to the field with you.

Final Fantasy IV Advance.
Number of small glitches, but I'm still loving it. Plus I can play it before class when I'm waiting for the professor to show up.

Why is it pissing you off?
It's a ripped mac version and there's a few glitches in it. Like the party AI keeps failing and only half the party will follow the walking commands and the other half just stands there, sometimes saving fails and I have to delete and recreate the temp folder (which I found out that if I do that in a zone and don't leave it before I delete and remake the Temp folder, all the loot that I looted before I deleted the temp folder comes back but I keep what's in my inventory, aka, get rich fast.), also it periodically freezes in fullscreen, and sometimes just crashes. Then of course, I've never played it before so it's kind of hard to pick up, though I'm learning fast, it's all just a little confusing. Good game though.

Ouch. That really sucks, because that's one of my favorite games. One tip, if you haven't figured it out: Save often. I mean like after every fight. Also, use the pause button a lot, too.

Oh yeah. I quick save after basically every fight and rest whenever I can. The fights at the moment aren't toooo bad, but I occasionally use the pause button to do certain tasks mid-fight.
